Everett: I have never really been a huge comic book guy, mostly because I wasn’t ever able to get them where I grew up, but as long as TMNT content was similar to the cartoons, I was all over it, getting as many toys as my folks could afford. Now, jumping into comics, this was phenomenal! The artwork and storytelling is just breathtaking!

Matthew Scott Harvey: I enjoyed this work a lot. If “The Last Ronin” were the last TMNT book ever written I’d be satisfied. I guess the only thing that didn’t quite live up to my expectations were certain elements of the storytelling. A lot of the story elements were surprisingly moving… just not everything as I wanted it to be (as a die hard TMNT fan’s imagination built this book up to be). Still, I would recommend it to any TMNT fan. It’s amazing how far the art of TMNT comics has come over the years. It gives me hope that there will continue to be TMNT fans after many years to come. Thank you Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.

Gabriel Magnuson: I actually had not heard of this until someone mentioned there was a game being made of it. I grew up with the original series, movies and even had some of the comics. This story hits me so hard, and differently, as an adult that young me couldn't have appreciated the same. But the nostalgia also brings back those early years too -- it's just so well written. I could not put this down, and I read it all cover to cover in one sitting. I know there's been so many versions variations and reimagining of TMNT, but not all I could really get in to (namely the new live action). But this story, The Last Ronin, despite all the ups and downs, left me with a genuine feeling of satisfaction as the story of my childhood came to a conclusion -- and gave birth to a new.

Delbert T.: Growing up watching the teenage mutant ninja turtles growing up in the 80s... was a joy for us, followed by the movies, toys, the video games, etc...
I never got into the remakes. The new art styles and voice actors were a turn-off for me.
I heard about this about a year ago because I video game was being made based on it. When I heard the synopsis of it, I was hooked. I finally picked this up. The moment I opened the pages, I couldn't put it down. From start to finish, I was glued to the story and made me feel those old feelings from the 80s, the connection to the turtles, the heartbreak in the story, the connections, the old and new. I'm sad and happy for the ending. I personally found no fault in the story, nor could I find anything to critique. 5 stars to you, Kevin Eastman.

Kindle Customer: I've been stabbed. Dead center. Right in the feels. A comic hasn't made me tear up like that in a long time, but this franchise holds so much nostalgia for me that it couldn't help it. I grew up waiting for the next issue of the trade edition to come out, hording small change and then begging my folks to take me to the comic shop, praying I hadn't miscounted and I had enough to cover tax. I still have the original graphic novels my brother found at B. Dalton so many years ago up with the rest of my cherished special editions and TTRPG collection, waiting for my own children to discover them and get lost in the story.

This may be the final story for the four brothers, but it did not disappoint. A fitting climax of the tales of love, hurt, family, tradition, time travel, betrayal, loyalty, pizza, and above all: honor and duty. The last turtle standing must avenge the deaths of his father and brothers, shaking off the ghosts of the past to confront the insane grandson of their clan's greatest enemy. And oh my gods, that final scene of Mickey finally rejoining all of his lost...

atodeblueatodeblue: I read through this on the very same day it arrived (which if I may add, was on time to the estimated delivery).
While some may argue that this is a very dark and depressing comic for the TMNT franchise, which I can't argue with really... I believe the story was very well executed, and this is something I would LOVE to see more of when it comes to the franchise.
Acknowledging that being a "hero" isn't as easy or painless as it seems is very important to me in comics and stories like these. The protagonist CAN and WILL get hurt throughout the fights and battles, mentally AND physically.
Change happens. Life and death happens.
You can't save everyone, you're going to feel pain and regret over the things you witness, maybe even cause.
This story told that side incredibly well, and it's definitely something I can appreciate.
At times, it did make me want to skim through the text and pages as I felt it went a little slow, but perhaps that was mostly due to my impatience to see what would happen next. Nevertheless, that won't lower my rating on this, because the comic as a whole was way too good for me to rate it any less.
It was delivered in one...

Paul: Had heard about it a while back, neglected to buy it until I saw it at a local book shop. Of course Amazon had it much cheaper so I ordered it online and immediately started reading it upon delivery. It's a sad story I guess growing up with the TMNT helped hit the emotional punch that they were going for.
