chris croteau: I wanted a smaller generator/invertor to use with my RV for Spring, Fall and Winter and to use around the house for hedge trimming etc. I received the generator earlier today. It was very easy setting it up with oil and fuel. It runs everything in my RV less the air-conditioner which I knew it would not. It is light and very quiet while in ECO mode, not bad at all under a heavy load. It runs every power tool I own. It has all the things I want to include the ECO mode, DC charger to top off my camping batteries, auto oil shut off if low, fuel shut off, tool kit to include a 10mm wrench for the ground bolt, phillips head screw driver to get access to any part of the sound shell and a plug wrench. I haven't found a use for the 8mm side of wrench yet but am sure it has one. Very easy access to the oil dipstick and spark plug. It seems well constructed and the price was phenomenal. I have three larger generators that I use in the summer for camping, house power outages etc. The WEN 2000 is perfect for what I intended it to be used for. Dwight: Generator never ran correctly from the beginning ,currently trying to get replavement parts from Wen ,however they suggest i will have to send them my parts first, not gonna happen, bought a ne Honda yesterday should have done this first, live and learn

Ronstoppable: It is pretty quiet but has enough power to run two cook stove/hotplates. Safety feature cuts off power if overloaded.

Reviewer: I opened the box and followed the directions. I did use the supplied oil for the initial fill. I was not going hunting for ethanol-free gas (10% is standard in my area). I did add fuel additives to the mix to counteract the ethanol. Pulled the start a few times and it fired right up and I turned off the choke after a couple of seconds. It was running and quiet. A little bit of blue smoke on start-up but that is normal. Ran great w/no load. I let it idle a few minutes and inspected for leaks. It looks good. I found a heat gun that put it under load (1400 watts) and plugged it in and turned it on. The generator ramped up its effort (can hear the load change). I let it work with that and continued to monitor. I let it run for about 45-60 minutes with the 1400 watt load. I turned off the load (1400 watt heat gun) and the generator on ECO mode idled down. I let it run for another 5 minutes before I shut it off. I did not use the fuel cut-off, just straight to off. I drained and inspected the oil.... nothing abnormal. I replaced the oil with high-quality full synthetic with the proper viscosity. I can tell you that you should be on a flat surface and have a piece of cardboard under it...
