Weiler 44003 Horsehair Counter Duster with Natural Wood Handle for Easy Cleaning

Steve: I bought this brush to sweep sawdust and wood chips off my workbench, machinery, and projects in progress in my wood shop. It works great, and I have no worries about scratching paint or carefully smoothed wood surfaces. I'll definitely buy another if it wears out.

tough customer: Overall, this is a pretty good brush. I bought it for its length and width, which should work well for a shop bench brush. Unfortunately, the one I received had a very rough patch on the handle. It took about ten minutes to hand sand it smooth enough to use for an extended period. Now, I have to buy and apply a polyurethane finish to protect the wood.

Em: the handle needed sanding--I immediately got a splinter from it taking it out of the box. The hair also needed a bit of TLC. I took a comb to it to get out the loose fibers and then trimmed the edges with scissors so that they were all aligned properly. About ~5 minutes of work later, and it was wonderful! Sweeps better than any broom I've owned to date. Absolutely worth every penny.

tania: Like other reviewers mention, the hairs do fall out. Pros are: It is inexpensive and the bristles are soft. It does a good job of clearing my workspace of tiny particles. It is easy to handle and feels lightweight and balanced. I haven't owned it long enough to know if all of the bristles will eventually fall out. Personally if could do this again I would spend the extra on a better brush.

Rolidnot: Nothing cleans like horse hair. I have a 50 year old horse hair brush that I got from my dad and it works great. I needed a second similar brush for another location and this Weiler brush has worked out well.

It's a good size brush that I use for dusting between coats of clear polyurethane on trim work and furniture. After I apply the first coat of poly, I dry sand with 600 paper and then use this horse hair brush to remove most of the dust and then use a tack rag for final dust removal.

This Weiler brush cleans up well with an air compressor or soap and water or both. You can spend a LOT more money for a similar brush but I doubt you'll get better service or dust removal at any price. Hope that helps!
