AskTheNerd: I have had many different non-contact sensors. Some are too sensitive and continue to go off even when the power is off! Others are just the opposite. This seems to hit the Goldilocks level and works well. But, always remember to be very cautious, even if it’s not “beeping”!

Carter HCarter H: I work as a handyman which often means that I am replacing various electrical devices such as light switches, wall outlets, garbage disposals, etc. I've been shocked by live wires before and have no desire to repeat the experience so when I saw this tool, I thought I would try it out.
This sensor is awesome and is a must have for anyone working with electricity. All you do is push the sensor button and then put the sensor close to the device you are working on. If the light and alarm goes off, the device/wires are live and it is not safe to work on them.
Super simple, super useful. Would highly recommend.
