Elizabeth ClawsonElizabeth Clawson: Loved the illustrations--and my 2 stars are for the illustrations. The words and rhyme scheme is just so BASIC.

Product labels this book as good for baby – 12yo. I disagree. This book would have required too much "ad libbing" for me to read to my class of 3- and 4-year-olds. The size isn't conducive to reading to a group of 14 kids. Pages are too small for the illustrations to be seen from our "spots" during "Circle Time" in class.

Race is a difficult concept to describe to preschoolers. I had high hopes that it would work well for my students.

A small gripe is calling the [American] soccer ball a [non-American] football. Not a huge deal for grade schoolers. For concrete-thinking preschoolers it's not ideal. Also, the book uses the British spelling of "colour".

The icing on the cake is the grammar issue. I should have read the reviews before purchasing.

Ugh.
I'm returning.

Alexis: Very rhyme-y and a bit too "all lives matter"-y in content for what I needed for my family.

Dr David MacKinnon Can I send it back: Great book for kids to accept and celebrate multiculturalism

Mr JD Holt: This book has a wonderful sentiment and beautiful illustrations, except there is one section in the book that describes us as being different races. Firstly biologically this is not correct, secondly as the books main aim is to say that we belong highlighting racism as a subtle positive is not that great. I changed three words to make it read better, so that I can read this in my classroom. "Some might (come from) a different (place) ..."
But otherwise, I like how it describes all the lovely things that make us different and equal.
