You can put a lot in or just a little and it and it accommodates. It is sturdy and travels on top of the car well. It is not noisy. It is waterproof. Great value for the money

S_Lam: What a great carrier! I've been disappointed in the past with soft carriers, but this one exceeded my expectations. I have a Ford Transit 10 passenger van and already have a hardshell carrier on top. I also have a Yakima basket on the top and wanted something to carry our camping chairs in. After a ton of research, I decided to bite at this one. I was a little nervous with the pricing and the claims of being fully waterproof, but I figured I'd try it anyways. And man, what a great item! We got caught in a DOWNPOUR on a recent vacation, but everything remained bone dry inside. The cover for the zippers is MUCH bigger than others I've seen, the zippers are super heavy duty, and the material is very nice and thick. Hooking it up was super easy, and there are more than enough buckles to tighten it down as needed. Just note that the main picture almost makes it look semi-rigid in nature. Want to be clear that this is a SOFT rooftop carrier; however, it does fold down nicely into its own carrier bag.

ChrisChris: Front left attaching strap is sewn incorrectly (wrong location). Putting tension on this strap would eventually tear the cover. Other than this manufacturer defect it seems to be well made, but this is a show stopper. Will return and try again.
*** Update *** I requested return and Amazon asked if I wanted new one shipped immediately so I said yes. It was on doorstep the next day. I opened and everything looks good! So I'd give 5 stars for service, but had to deduct 1 star for the initial defective item.

Jeff Carlisle: We got this to help us transport stuff during a cross-country trip from CT to ID, ID to CA, CA to AZ, AZ to ID, and ID to CT again. We had duffel bags in there for awhile, and a couple bags of dog food. Here are my thoughts:
TL:DR - functions great, some drawbacks, would probably get something different but just because of personal preference. It works great.
1. It's big. I was surprised at how big it was and how much you could it in there. We didn't fill it up at all, so we could have fit way more stuff in there. I think this is a positive.
2. It's a bit annoying to put on the car. There are a lot of straps (which is nice as far as security goes, but annoying as far as using the straps themselves). I was putting this on in early March in CT and it was cold out, so my hands were freezing as I messed with the straps.
3. We had a lot of extra strap hanging from the bag after putting our stuff in it and cinching it down tight. There's not great strap management native to the bag, so I just wrapped the extra around parts of the bag and tied them off. If you don't, the straps are super loud as they flap around and bounce off your car while driving. So you...

Kindle Customer: Just done a trip to wales with it for camping.
It's done the job perfectly as expected, only had a little bit of rain but it's kept everything dry and was very easy to strap to the roof bars.
A cheap alternative to a roof box.

Mr Tite: Just used it for a camping holiday. Brilliant luggage carrier. It fitted 5 sleeping bags, 5 self inflating mats, 3 foam roll mats, 3 single blankets, 2 sleeping bags liners and coats for a family of five. Fixed onto the roof and no issues including sound (max. Speed by me was 60 miles). Journey to site also included a rain storm. All was dry! My advice is to buy a roof protector mat to be on the safe side of not scratching the paintwork. Folds up very compact this was my main reason for buying it (plus price). Personally I wouldn't put a heavy hard object on the roof as it may dent it; but I knew this when buying.

Amazon Customer: There are a few reviews with photos and complaints that the bag ripped. In reading at least one of the reviews with photos, I could immediately tell that they had the bag attached improperly. I use this back within my roof rack with cross bars and cinch or down tightly on all sides. In the years I've had it, there has been no leaking, fraying, zipper issues or tearing. I've used it in temps of 119 degrees and there's no melting and it never felt like a "plastic trash bag" at any point. I've used it to go few hundred miles and at speeds over 70 mph. If you're using this bag without cross-bars (which I wouldn't recommend with any bag), there is going to be more stress on the sides and on the front where nothing is shielding from the air resistance effects and of course there will be more flapping of that part isn't secured close to the roof of the vehicle. It's a $50 bag probably ideal for shorter trips and intermittent use - it is not (nor will ever be) a hard plastic rooftop cargo carrier.
