The Tech Guy: I bought the 3 pack of these Waterdrop Filters based on the 4.7 overwhelming positive reviews and the lowest price but now I'm regretting it.
In the past I was purchasing the Golden IcePure Replacement filters and they had always worked fine. These Waterdrop filters were $3 dollars cheapers so I thought I'd save a few dollars, plus the Golden IcePure Filters had a 4.6 star rating.
Without looking closely the filters look identical however when I tried to install the filter in my refrigerator it didn't turn easily and the fit was tight and wouldn't turn all the way. When I removed it the seal O-rings on the water filter dislodged and water started spraying out of the filter port of the refrigerator. I quickly pulled the fridge out from the wall and turned the water shutoff valve off but lots of water sprayed all over the kitchen floor and cabinets.
I took a closer look at the Waterdrop filter and noticed 3 differences between the Waterdrop filter and my OEM Whirlpool Filter and previous Golden Icepure Filter.

The O-ring seals are smaller and don't protrude as much on these Waterdrop filters thereby not sealing as tight.

Ree: Our town water has become terrible the past couple of years with all the chemicals they put in it. This filter cleans them right out, the water tastes so clean and fresh, you can't help but want to drink more! My entire family loves it, it's that wonderful! So delicious! Also, this may sound crazy, but the ice cubes last longer, too, than unfiltered or other filtered water. Definitely will be purchasing again and again! Thank you!
