James Craig: Rob Paulsen is a very talented and kind man who has opened his soul in this look at his life, his career and his battle with throat cancer. His humor and humanity come across in a read that will make you laugh, cry and cheer.

Mother of 8 Dragons: While most families have mainstream recognizable actors as their beloved, our family has found their greatest joy in Rob Paulsen. I’ve been amazed at how often our kids (7 of them) can pick out Rob’s voice no matter how nuanced or obscure it is in the scene. Many times I found myself in arguments only to look it up and sure enough they have found another of his creations.
I knew I would have to read this book and disappointed that it took me until now to finally start reading it. However, soon as I started I could not put it down. I’d normally take a month to read a book yet I devoured this in 3 days. We have met rob 3 times at public events and he is always so kind and caring. I say all this to say that this came through beautifully in this book.
Rob pulls back the veil and invites you into a behind the scenes look deep into his personal triumphs and tragedies. It is truly captivating and mesmerizing. I highly recommend and grateful that this story not only has a happy ending but an inspiring one, too. Be sure to give this book a read!

Geraldrr: An uplifting, funny memoir. Rob is not just an amazing voice actor, but an amazing human being. He obviously has his priorities straight and is beloved by all who know him. Great read.

Jenny: So I have a confession to make: I didn't actually know who Rob Paulsen was until a few weeks ago. Nor had I seen Animaniacs or Pinky and the Brain - unless you count a couple of times when I was very little that I can hardly remember. But after seeing that meme of Yakko's World but edited to this adorable character bouncing around and counting the Covid-19 cases, I decided to give it a go. I'm basically a 25-year-old kid who adores animation, and I quickly fell in love, the show helping me laugh during this stupid global pandemic.
Now, I'm one of those people who likes to know more about the voices behind my favourite characters, so I learned about Mr. Paulsen and how he has been in THOUSANDS of roles over the years. Including Mark Chang in Fairly Odd Parents. How that alien surfer dude is the same person behind Yakko Warner, is beyond me. I quickly followed him on Twitter. And that's where I learned of this book.
Oh my goodness. Not only is Rob's story a genuinely fascinating look at the world of voice acting, but it also delves into his childhood, his time as a singer in a rock band, his inner conflict with wanting money and fame while remembering why he wanted to...

GryffindorLioness: I grew up with Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain when I was a kid, like many others, but I didn't find out until years later what an amazing guy Rob Paulsen really is. After reading his book, I love him even more and admire him so much for sharing his story - not because he wants to hype himself, but to help others who are going through similar ordeals. I also love his attitude about meeting his fans: he could have been someone who got sick of doing the same old thing over and over again, but Rob knows the value of it: these characters mean the world to many people. Rob, thank you for your honesty and your story - and for the sweetness of Pinky and the zany goofiness of Yakko Warner rolled into one awesome guy. I hope to tell you this in person one day!

Hubert Grabowski: "Voice Lessons" is a deeply touching story of a man who could be inspiration for everyone. It is a fantastic piece of work which made me into thinking about my life in a different way. After reading about experience of my favorite voice actor I decided to turn my life around and work harder on shaping my future.
Thank you Rob for being such a wonderful person, I cannot describe with my words how much those lessons are worth for me. It was a life changer!

AdamWAdamW: You may not know much about Rob Paulsen, but you undoubtedly know about the iconic characters he has breathed life into over thirty five plus years as a voice actor. They include Ninja Turtles Raphael and Donatello, Yakko Warner and Pinky from Animaniacs, Carl Wheezer from Jimmy Neutron, and Snowball from Rick & Morty. His IMDB is as massive as a Detroit phone book.
Rob's journey has brought him through some amazing experiences, and has allowed him to touch so many people in a positive way. However, there have also been false starts, roadblocks, family drama, and even life and career threatening illness. It is an unflinching account of his life up to this point, told in the most unique and wonderful voice that he has ever produced; his own.
I cannot recommend this book highly enough. Do yourself a favor and order one for yourself. At the very least, you can use it to prop up the leg on that wobbly table or chair ;)

clarinet 3: I do not follow cartoons but, chose the book based on Rob's cancer journey. Hit the high notes and had perfect harmony with his life and career in this orchestrated symphony!
