Mare: Size ran a bit big. My dog did like the float under the chin. Honestly I thought it was ridiculous to buy a vest for a dog but I was glad I did for kayaking. Dog seemed more relaxed in the water.

art lady Jane: It's a fantastic quality, sturdy with a handle on top.
Cardigan Corgis are the wrong shape to swim, they are a non swimming dogs due to this.
So mine is really just a waters edge surfer, unless theres deep mud and he's up to his neck in that.
With this vest he is feeling more confident in the water and has swam a little with his water loving cousin, black lab.
We can assist him using the substantial handle on top. The vest has long and sturdy pieces of fabric and velcro that wraps underneath him, he feels very secure in it, we get no complaints, works almost like a thunder vest. Perfect for a hesitant scared dog.
The yellow, suits our blond Corgi perfectly and he is welcomed by all at the dog beach, due to his cuteness, I'm sure, haha.
His cousin will be getting this brand of life vest soon, as she just outgrew her cheap one. She hardly needs a vest at all for swimming. But she has helicopter parents who are scared she will swim too far out, which is very likely, with this goofball. She would be easy to rescue, and be pulled into a boat with the grab handle and she could not fall out of this vest as the fabric and velcro are very sturdy, once strapped in they are...

RMB54: I have a 14# Yorkiepoo who is obsessed with being near me at all times and hated swimming but would jump into our above ground pool to get to me, so I decided he needed a life jacket. This one is awesome. I love the little flap in front, it keeps his fool head out of the water and the jacket fits him so well. He still hates the water and will jump in and swim to me on my floaty and climb on and sit on my CHEST....but at least he won't drown trying to get to me....plus, he hates having his nails cut and if I put him in this and my husband uses the handle to hold him like a suitcase, I can cut his nails!!!!!

Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: My dog loves swimming and I wanted to take him kayaking, but I'm worried about if he jumps out and gets too far from me or shore and gets tired. So I got him this. The under- chin section is attached by velcro, my little guy didn't like it, so that's why it's not in my pic. It velcros around the abdomen and across the chest, then there are plastic parachute clips to keep it in place more securely. The size is very adjustable.
The handle on the back is very.... handy. When he's ready to get back in the kayak, I can just pick him up out of the water like a little briefcase and lift him back in.
The only potential concern I can think of is that the D-ring on the back is plastic, so if you're going to be using this to attach a leash for a bigger dog, I wouldn't trust that to hold if they pull very hard. But for our purposes and my dog's size, it's absolutely perfect.

Mrs H: I couldn’t give this 5 stars as I haven’t tried it out in water yet. Fits my little frenchie really well and feels super secure with the Velcro around the body and then the clips. Also love the little extra padded chin part to keep her little flat face out of the water.
