Moses: So my dad's car almost got stolen (2014 Kia Soul). He wanted me to install this alarm after I replaced the broken window and steering column parts.
The alarm works, sure, but the reason why I'm giving it 4 stars, is that the status LED will seemingly randomly decide to keep flashing while the system is disarmed.

And with the placement of it, it is right in front of the driver's face. (Where an oil change reminder sticker would go) I placed it there, thinking it wouldn't be a problem, but now we're considering putting a piece of tape over the LED.. But then at night, a nefarious person wouldn't be able to tell that the car has some kind of Alarm besides the window stickers.

I'm going to try and move it to the passenger side, but I'm not sure if the cable will stay up in the headliner, or if I will need to get adhesive cable clips so we don't damage the headliner trying to force it deeper inside.

Ernesto A. Barbery: La instalé en un Mitsubishi Montero IO. Funciona perfectamente, aunque me hubiera gustado utilizar algunas características adicionales que tiene la alarma como el uso del botón auxiliar o la capacidad de configurar solo el desbloqueo de la puerta del conductor o todas las puertas pero no supe cómo hacerlo en mi vehículo.

Richard D: This seems like a good alarm so far but its only been installed for a week. As with other alarms sold on amazon or elsewhere, they do not include detailed instructions to install them. They recommend a professional installer which i was quoted $150-$200 to install it. This alarm does not include a remote starter so its not as complicated to install. I found some videos on YouTube and an installation manual which made the installation easier. If you are not accustomed to working on cars and electrical systems, hire an installer. I was fine doing this on my own and it was not as difficult as i thought. I returned a no name brand alarm and went with viper because I believe they have a better reputation. I do like that now my after market power door locks automatically lock and unlock with the ignition. I still have minor adjustments to make for the motion censor to be more active. Other than that it i working well.

james falveyjames falvey: I researched for months before i made my purchase.
I read a lot of reviews that said "the instructions were not included", however, that was not the case with my purchase. everything was included; instructions, two Viper window decals and all.
Already having the schematic for my vehicle wiring it took a minute to figure everything out. being a well-educated electrician it still took me some time to install the alarm. It took me a total of 8 hours to install the alarm on my truck.
After a week everything is working as it should except for one thing. The shock sensor sensitivity is turned all the way up, however, you really have to jerk hard on the vehicle for the alarm to go off.you will have to purchase an extra sensor for the vehicle.
The range is excellent I can arm and disarm my vehicle from a long ways away.
Another Plus is the siren is waterproof. I have the siren mounted underneath my vehicle instead of the hood compartment. I recently went down a road that was floodedand the siren was underneath the water completely. after having to remove the siren to empty out the water, it still worked !!!!! I am extremely happy with that.
