I just got these bookends, and I LOVE them! They are tall enough--9" tall and 6" wide, and they are holding my cookbooks up nicely. The base of the bookends, made of the same ? iron ? metal is 7" x 6". There was only one cork pad included, and it was thinner than I would want, so I did not use it. I attached felt pads on each bookend that I had of my own. For bookends of this quality, I do not mind. This is a purchase that has been one of my most satisfying of late. I would definitely buy these again.

These are excellent bookends! The flat bottom is long enough that it fits under 3 hymnals, so it holds the books firmly, & the bookends are heavy, so if a book tips over, it doesn't knock the ends down.
The felt pieces don't come attached, & I didn't see at first that each included felt rectangle was punched into circles, so I started cutting them into pieces, but whatever. 🙂 They work both ways, but look closely (or put on your glasses, as I should have 😂), & you'll see the neat little circles.
I'd definitely buy these again.

I love these bookends. Nice looking and very sturdy. The long base keeps them from falling over. I added SoftTouch gripper bars (pads) underneath to further protect from slippage, since I am constantly taking out and replacing the books I use these bookends to contain.

I needed a good and strong set of bookends. I have a dozen thick and heavy reference books that are used so often that I needed them to be kept handy on my desk top. Stacking didn’t work well. I’m glad I ordered these. The base scoops far under the books. Problem solved.
