I bought the cream color with gold trim. Illuminates very nicely. I am extremely happy with this purchase. I may buy more as gifts.

PaintedFern Adv. Master Gardener: Bought for its retro, but not-too-cutesy style. Lovely soft cream color looks like Bakelite. Smaller size perfect for my small hands and for not hogging nightstand top space.
Features were just right, as I don't need/want my alarm clock to converse with my fridge or tv.😁
Quibbles:
Plastic, while perfectly molded, feels chintzy/cheapo. Easily knocked over because of light weight.

M Jones: The clock is very attractive and fits well with my mid century modern decor. It is quite heavy and the plastic resembles the old bakelite finishes from the mid century era. I really like the light up background, though it could be brighter. Very happy with the purchase. it looks great as a desk clock on my MCM teak desk.

Birdie: It’s a nice clock keeps time back light on low means it can be difficult to read in the night but having the brightness too high is not for me. Setting for back light is very low or very high no in between.

The Crosley Art Deco Alarm Clock is NOT "flimsy", in fact it's much heavier than I imagined, when I tapped on the case I could most definitely tell the plastic is thick.
Insertion of batteries, simple. Operation buttons and knobs easy to use and very simple to set-up. The knob to set the time is very easy to turn in either direction. The knob to set the alarm is equally simple. The clock amits...
