I have been carrying a small pocket knife every day of my (long) adult life and the Executive is the perfect size, and perfect tool for daily suburban life; slim and at 3", anything larger feels bulky (and like a camping knife) anything smaller gets lost because you won't notice it when it falls out of your pocket. The scissors are remarkably tight, strong and durable, the knife blades are sharp and stay sharp, the larger blade is large enough for real use. The file is very handy and it includes the perfect, blunt tip for additional nail care.
In the attached image, the (53401) 3-Inch Executive is the third knife. The one on the left is the too losable Classic, 2nd is the, also losable but very nice Wenger Everyday Esquire Genuine and the one on the right is the much heavier Tinker (my next choice for an everyday knife, but a distant second to the Executive).
Another model that I plan to try is the, much less expensive, 58mm Rambler (which replaces the somewhat useless peeler with a very useful, combo bottle opener, Philips screwdriver) but this one, I believe, will be a little too small and will be quickly...

Peter & Dani: Really like this knife! Use it virtually every day. Knives are sharp, file is more aggressive yet works really well. Tooth pick and tweezers useful. This is a pocket knife every pocket would do well to have. Knife was as described, came quickly and well packed. Very happy with this purchase!

PITAPITA: I love pocket knives! I have tried all sorts and styles. I think the Victorinox Executive may in fact be THE one. For years I carried a Tinker and it works. I also carried Benchmade minigrip and it worked to. The thing I've noticed is that for my daily needs, I really don't need a large 154CM one handed blade or a can-opener or saw to get thru the day. What I need is a nail file, a small scissor and a small blade.... and a toothpick. The older I get the more I realize that function and utility are more important than big and flashy. I fought the idea of going smaller for years thinking that I need to be ready at an instant to skin a moose or split some firewood but this is not my reality. This is what TV does to you. TV creates in a person an artificial reality with a "what if?" mentality. Knowledge is power. Knowing how to do things can eliminate the need for more stuff. My reality is opening small packages, cleaning/clipping/filing my finger nails and picking my teeth. I also liked the idea of keeping a small pocket knife on my keys as sort of a backup to a larger knife in my pocket but found that during the day the small knife was much more office friendly and the larger knife...

R. Tompson: I'm a businessman and a former Boy Scout. I like to Be Prepared, and that includes carrying a small pocketknife with me (except when I'm flying).
I've owned between 10 and 20 of this particular model of knife in 20+ years. Why so many? Well, some of them I lost... some were borrowed by my children and never returned... some were abandoned at TSA security areas when I forgot to slip the knife into my checked luggage... some are in my desk at work as an emergency reserve. And I always worry Victorinox will stop making this model, so I buy ahead.
For me, this is the perfect pocketknife.
- It has a great selection of blades... the large and small drop point.. the fingernail cleaner/file... the scissors are the best scissors I've found on many a pocket knife (on many others the blades are serrated, or the spring is misaligned, or too weak/strong)... and it's amazing how often I use the orange peeler!
- The steel is gorgeous, never stains. It stays sharp for a long time (I sharpen it with a diamond stick maybe twice a year)
- I use the toothpick for lots of tasks, from tooth hygiene to marlinspike for small problem knots.
- It's comfortable to...

J.: Love this size and the features. All the 74mm ones are discontinued and that is why the price is higher if you can find it on Amazon. The 58mm is the one I carry most of the time but finally decided to get this one while still able to find it online. Scissors and main blade on this size are nice and the orange peeler does what it is named for and is good for opening boxes too. As a box opener it is also more substantial than the one on the Minichamp. This is also the best overall shape for the nail file to me and like that it is longer than the 58mm.
