Roman D.: Benutze das Messer nun seit über einem Jahr und kann nur relativ wenig bemängeln. Die Verarbeitung ist sehr gut und das Messer ist für alles zu gebrauchen. Besonders die Ausführung Huntsman ist meiner Meinung nach die beste, da sie alles was man wirklich braucht kompakt beinhaltet. Die Klinge musste ich bis jetzt nie nachschärfen, bei wöchentlichem Gebrauch über ein Jahr. Natürlich verkratzt das Plastik leicht mit der Zeit, was normal ist. Leider reißt aber ein kleines Stück Plastik an der Stelle, wo der Korkenzieher beim einklappen dagegenstößt, ein. Am besten muss man direkt dort ein Stück Klebebandes darüberkleben, sodass dies nicht geschieht. Auch das große Messer stößt beim einklappen gegen das Metall des Rahmens wodurch winzige Stücke der Klinge bei mir abgebrochen sind, was sich aber auch einfach vermeiden lässt, wenn man es nicht zuschnappen lässt, somdern das Messer langsam zurückführt. Alles in allem ist das aber auch jammern auf hohem Niveau und das Messer kann ich nur empfehlen und bin mir sicher, dass sicher noch viele Jahre funktionieren wird.

M. W.: If you are not familiar with the quality of Victorinox knives, you should acquaint yourself with the brand. I have owned many throughout the last half century. Several have been everyday carry items. Some are kept in various bags and boxes stashed where they may come in handy. (Tool pouch, fishing tackle box, field repair kit, camping gear etc.) There are many models with tools that cover a wide variety of scenarios. Decide for yourself which one best suits your needs.

DEZ1KOELN: Jeder kennt dieses Schweizer Offiziersmesser und wer es besitzt, wird es als unentbehrlichen Helfer nicht mehr missen wollen.
Nur Vorsicht bei Flugreisen und - insbesondere in den USA - bei Besuchen von öffentlichen Einrichtungen, bei den Zugangskontrollen durchgeführt werden: dort werden diese Multifunksmesser gerne/immer konfisziert, denn billiger kann man ja nicht an diese begehrten Messer kommen.

the steel is a good quality comes razor sharp from factory and holds an edge pretty well.
prices are very weird i guess it is supply and demand some are expensive with virtually same features just one tool difference of having Philips screwdriver instead of corkscrew makes this model twice as expensive so this one is a good price.
the scissors and the saw both work very well almost all of them have same two blades can and bottle opener, so you pick other stuff you use to add to that the bottle opener acts as a Philips screwdriver on end for just light tightening or loosening.

Jimmy S: This is the fifth Swiss Army knife variant I’ve owned since the mid-80’s and this is the first one I bought since I left the US Army in late 1992. Yes, they do wear out after a while and break when dropped on hard surfaces or just from constant usage but, they do come in extremely handy when you have one. The last one I bought was when I was with the 101st ABN DIV while serving in an infantry reconnaissance platoon and everyone, including my 1st lieutenant platoon leader, had one as part of their rollout gear. We all had one that included the small scissors because, we would cut the MRE main meal pack horizontally instead of using the pre-tear cut at the top. Best way to get to ALL the food particles. Grunts know about being hungry! I still have that Swiss knife but, scissor tension bar broke many years ago and the main long knife tip broke off also so it was TIME for a new one and a smaller model upgrade. The knife showed up earlier than expected and it is now part of my backpacking-day hike-everyday survival gear. This one is half the size of the other and much more compact, which I like a lot. Il Victorinox Huntsman è un’evoluzione del modello Spartan, da cui si differenzia per la presenza di accessori quali la sega per il legno, le forbici ed il gancio multiuso, rendendolo maggiormente adatto per escursioni di uno o anche di qualche giorno.
Nonostante le molteplici funzioni è abbastanza leggero e le dimensioni sono giuste per metterselo in tasca all’inizio dell’escursione e dimenticarselo fino a quando, ovviamente, non serve!
Inutile discutere sull’affidabilità degli attrezzi: dopo 8 mesi e molteplici chilometri macinati non sento ancora la necessità di riaffilare la lama e la sega, tornata utile durante le classiche grigliate della domenica nei prati, mangia il legno che è una meraviglia!
In generale consiglierei quindi questo modello a chiunque pratichi sport all’aria aperta, anche per chi è appassionato di bici (il gancio multiuso può tornare utile per rimettere in sede la catena che scappa) oppure per i praticanti del bushcraft, che possono contare su un buon accessorio di backup (evitando sapientemente il batoning!).
Vorrei ora dare qualche consiglio sull’utilizzo...
