Richard Rodriguez: Sounds powerful for a tiny thing the engine is metal. It takes up almost no space! Worked great for a truck and regular car! The only thing I will not like is putting it back in the tiny bag. It’s sized to perfection but when your in a hurry or if you are not patient to fold all the wires and cables back like factory you’ll have to get a different bag to just throw everything in there fast. Other than that great!! Haven’t tried it with my long bed truck if everything reaches good but will soon update! For now RECOMMENDING!

D. Duma: .... which is all I need this for. It brings a tire from a few pounds under, back up to spec in just a few seconds. Gauge is accurate within a pound or two when you shut the motor off. It's still better to make the final adjustment with a good tire gauge.

It's quieter than you'd expect.

Confirming, electrical cord is 10 feet, air hose is 8 feet. As others said, to get the diagonally opposite tire you have to run the power cord across the top of the engine. Not an issue for me as you are supposed to check the tires cold anyway. A roadside repair, laying the cord across a hot engine, would be dicey.

I could reach the spare tires in the back of my cars by running the power cord back down the same side of the car as the battery. And it had no trouble taking those tires from 55 to 65 psi, quickly.

I guess for a large truck you might want the model with the cigarette lighter plug instead if you have a power outlet in the back.

The hose is stiff plastic at room temperature and it's pretty stiff in winter.

The included adapters for blowing up sports equipment are stored in little clamps down by the feet.... Easy to miss...

Amazon Customer: The compressor is quiet compare with other models that I owned.
It didn't take long to inflate tires depending of course the gap from the pressure at the beginning.
Easy to store away with the pouch.

KNKN: The viair compressors came highly recommended and this one suitednmy needs perfectly. The compressor does not disappoint and neither did the seller Swastikfabs with their quick delivery. Although my unit was missing the hard copy instruction manual, not a biggie as this can be found online. The unit I purchased hooks onto the car battery and then the led worklight which more or less works as an indicator turns on giving you a kind of go ahead to crank the engine. Once the engine is running the unit is good to do what it does best and fill up tyres. I would recommend giving it a break if pumping up multiple tyres from flat as the unit will run hot. Do compare rate of fills of all the available Viair units before settling on one that fits your needs. The unit is rather silent compared to previous generic comoresors I have used. The provided air hose is a decent lenght(8ft) although I would be pleased if the 6ft extension did not cost as much as it does.

Thus far I have been pleased with my purchase and a conversation with Swastikfabs has put me at ease when it comes to after sales support as well and hence I have no issue recommending this compressor or the...

pokey: Even after reading all the reviews praising this pump, it is faster, quieter and especially smother than I was expecting it to be. It's a pump, so its not silent, it can't be, but it is quieter than I was expecting. More importantly: it is smooth, which means that the crankshaft & piston assembly is very well balanced. A well balanced crank will last longer than a poorly balanced one, all other things being equal. If the bearings, seals, reed valves, and motor are as high quality as the crank & piston, then I think this pump should last a very long time. It has a good solid feel also. I'm confident enough in this product's quality, that I'm leaving my spare tire at home from now on.

I think the cords and the hose are longer than what some of the other reviewers have described, so maybe Viair has revised this a little. This one made it to all four corners of my Miata with plenty of slack. Yes, the Miata is a small car, but others seem to have said that it was close to not reaching.

If Viair made a mini version of this that could fit under a motorcycle seat, I'd be the first in line to buy it.
