Vepotek Aquarium Background with Double-Sided Design

jmoy5jmoy5: Bought this aquarium background because it looked high quality and says waterproof. I did install to the back of the tank (outside of the water) using Seaview Mounting solution and it looked great at first. But over time the background seemed to absorb liquid, making it wavy all around the perimeter, see attached picture. I'll try another brand to see if I can find something better, that won't get wavy.

Hamster LordHamster Lord: Brought two of these backgrounds for use in two different aquariums, one for a 65 gallon rectangular (36 inches × 24 inches) and the other for a 6 gallon corner (24 inches × 24 inches). Also brought the glue and applicator combo. Both look absolutely beautiful and vibrant, but the background I brought for the 6 gallon falls short of being able to cover both sides completely. I could cut it in half horizontally and have it fit that way, but it wouldn't look right. It's really my fault for not measuring the width of my aquarium properly.

Momof7Momof7: As described. This is on the backside of a 55gallon tank.
What I liked: Good packaging, color, not pixelated, repeat in print not as noticeable as I thought it would be, it’s waterproof, and cutting to size was easy.
What I didn’t like: Getting the dang thing to look good and stay at the same time. It is not peel and stick. Using tape held it in place but made it look dark and foggy.
Maybe helpful: Picture attached shows after I put water on it, stuck it to the back of the tank, and used a magnetic tank glass cleaner to get air bubbles out.

DKGDKG: I only set this up last night so I can't attest to longevity yet. I will update review if necessary. I tried to include as many pictures as possible with the different lighting capabilities my lights have. My rocks are actually red but appear pink, especially using my dark mode lighting. I LOVE the background, it actually appears to give off a 'salt water' tank look even though mine is freshwater. None of the pictures include water because I have not filled it yet. I bought the background with the adhesion 'glue'. The packaging of the adhesion was terrible, it had leaked in the bag but I still had enough to use and there was NO instructions. I am choosing to rate the usage of it rather than the packaging and lack of instructions. The background was packaged appropriately and there was little too ZERO creases when unrolled. I did NOTHING to straighten it out. I unrolled it, the side you want facing out today people can see, put little drops or lines of the adhesive, take a paper towel (folded) and wipe the drops/lines all over the background. I would call it smearing it all over especially the corners and edges. Once the background is covered, apply it to your tank. Not to worry if...

Charles Bland: I was expecting a background with some sort of adhesive substance. This comes with a static type cling meaning all you do is spray a little water and use a credit card or similar item to push the water and air bubbles out similar to installing tint on a window. It is a little more time consuming since it’s a fish tank then tinting auto glass but my biggest issue is unlike tint which has a minor bond to the glass this has none. It’s more or less held in place by surface tension so any time you move things and manage to catch the edge it starts pulling off and you have to reattach all over. I wouldn’t buy a second time knowing this however I would not tell anyone to not buy it. It works decent and does its job it’s just not a good fit for me as I’m always rearranging things on my tank looking for the perfect everything.
