J Lachapelle: Very good violon for price. Need better sound? Invest in good string and you'll be on your way. Finger board is a little low, so bridge adjustement might be required, as it was the case for me. Otherwise a good investment.

Ivan: Edit: im replacing the two stars i docked on the electronics issue i have realised it was user error. I will keep the original review in place though. So the instructions on how to properly place the bridge wernt great so for others who are complete begginers: that little black box thing that looks like it perfectly fits the bridge and looks like thats where your bridge goes? No. Place the bridge INFRONT of it. Cheers.

Like others the electronics on this thing doesnt work for me. So i docked two stars to reflect that for those interested HOWEVER for me personally, i wanted it muted anyways so i dont annoy my neighbors in my apt while also learning if i enjoyed playing, and COULD play it. Theres not to many options for left handed violins which was why i chose this one.
I cannot play the standard way due to missing fingers and due to injuries in my wrist so i wasnt sure how well this would go. So while this thing is cheap, doesnt ya know....sound great.....i like it. Its nice that i can give playing left handed a try for a affordable price to see if i want to invest in a more proper one in future.
So for those who can play standard....theres prob better...

Emily: First violin had no sound, Was sent a replacement which sounds great, the colour is super pretty and easy to set up.
The seller was super helpful, gave lots of solutions to see what the issue was .

Raven: I don't know much about Violins so I can't say weather to recommend this set to anyone or not. But I was actually surprised that I was immediatly able to put it all together and even get it into tune. I wasn't expecting a Stradivari and I can safely say, for the price I'm not disapointed. Overall it looks nice and the sound I get out of it seems satisfying.

Menga ClaireMenga Claire: Bon violon, jolie couleur, qualité sonore un peu médiocre, mais pour ce prix là, je ne crache pas dessus.
Il y a besoin d'un peu de dextérité dans l'application du chevalet : j'ai commencé en accordant le LA (A) puis le RÉ (D) pour sécuriser puis le MI (E) pour finir par le SOL (G), tout en maintenant le chevalet (en le basculant un peu vers moi).
En ayant lu les commentaires, il est vrai qu'un changement de cordes est recommandé, le son devrait peut-être être un peu plus soigné. Aussi, le casque fourni avec n'est pas un super bon casque, donc ne vous attendez pas à entendre un joli concerto de Vivaldi :)
Par contre, petit bémol sur l'étui. La sangle qui retient le manche du violon est de très mauvaise qualité et dangereux (photo ci-joint). Mon ami va le rafistoler afin d'éviter que le violon ne se balade dans l'étui.

bob hartman-berrier: I read most of the reviews, positive and negative, before deciding to buy this item. So my decision to purchase it was an informed one.

First impressions on unpacking it were that it was well-packed and made excellent use of space for all the accessories, including rosin and tuner.

The instrument came with the strings under tension so that you only needed to put the bridge in place and raise it up. That worked fairly well. I play violin/fiddle, and am used to tuning instruments. The tuner is adequate, but the back wouldn't stay on so I had to wrap it in clear tape. Some reviews mentioned that the bridge was not properly notched for string placement, if it was notched at all. The bridge coming with the instrument was properly notched for string placement, and nicely arched so I had no problems adjusting to it in my playing. The bridge comes with flat feet which fit nicely into a little box on the body. In taking strings off and putting them on and tuning them, I had the bridge fall forward with a loud and surprising thud because I didn't keep adjusting it to be vertical. Now that I'm aware of this little quirk it shouldn't happen again.

Dale: At first glance it looks pretty good. It came with more than advertised. It had a shoulder rest which was not listed +
As I became more familiar with the instrument while setting it up I found the neck was not aligned with the body.
The low string falls off the neck at the bridge end. I think I can compensate by moving the tail stock over, it will put it at a slight angle but may work? I need to have the new strings I bought to make this adjustment. I would not be making these adjustments if I had paid more for this violin. I knew going in that this was not a strativarious.
I am not a violin player, I'm a guitar player, have been for 45 years. I am quite proficient at working on my own instruments and I feel that anyone buying this violin should have some knowledge of working on a stringed instrument. It has potential but needs TLC. You don't need to be a rocket scientist, just some basic knowledge, and common sense.
Go into this purchase with your eyes open, you need to get better strings, you need peg dope (don't know a better word), and you need some UTUBE instruction!!!!! Oh and a better bow...
It all depends what you want out of this. Everyone wants something...
