Amazont Customertttttt: I picked this up to have at my studio for sounds and fun, I barely know how to hold it etc. Rosin really sucks get some fresh somewhere but bow, electronics, neck, design, case, strings, etc all are excellent for the money! The 1/8 connectors on the back aren't pro grade usually people use 1/4" for real stage instruments, but it's serviceable and sounds amazing!

Next I need a viola...

Dominic Scimone: I've bought Cecilio before. Before it was their acoustic violin. The most consistent issue between the two of them is peg slipping. Even if you push the pegs in as you tune it, they will still slip a little. You NEED special peg oil/wax to keep them from slipping on these violins. If you can stop the slipping, the sound quality isn't too bad. This doesn't sound as good as my acoustic violin, and I notice having some other issues with it. GREAT FOR BEGINNERS! Don't get me wrong, want to learn this is how you do it.

One complaint I must say, I don't know if this was previously used or not but a few strands of hair were broken. It looks pretty used to be honest (just the bow). It still plays and produces sounds. I haven't used the headphones it came with I already have sennheisers which will be wayyyy better quality so why downgrade, I didn't use the rosin it came with, had bad experiences with that with the acoustic one. the case is really nice though for what you paid for everything. Overall I will give them a 4/5 stars except for sound quality but they aren't a 5,000 dollar violin either. Fair is fair though, but everything else is great especially for beginners.

Arthur: The overall violin is very good for the price, it is definetly for begginers, accesories are cheap but the base violin is nice and it produce nice sound. The biggest flaw i found is in the pickup EQ unit, not sure if it is just mine but the volume control is very inconsistent, on the headphones jack there are a lot of other noises, the tone varely makes any difference.

If the EQ unit were a better it probably deserved another star, and even at the price point I do believe it shoule be better or at least OK

Patricia S.: I am a beginner at over age 60. And love this silent violin. Came fast, well packaged. Took a bit to tune it up as usual it’s new strings, had to fine tune every day or so for first week, now it stays in tune pretty good.
If you are beginner, do lots of you tube learning, learn how to tune, hold bow, etc.
I live in a condo with no soundproofing etc, but can sit on my couch and play this unplugged and it cannot be heard outside the door into common area, 10 feet away. But it’s loud enough to bug a kid in the same room. With a 12 dollar rubber mute it’s even quieter. But I can hear enough to practice. With headphones you can turn up the volume as much as you want. Have not used amp, am years from trying that. I find when using headphones there’s a bit of a fluttering sound, not sure if it’s cheap battery, likely it’s there to stay. Tried a friends and theirs sounded same. Will bug me only a little, don’t notice when playing . Will google for fixes.( discovered that when I plug in to my 40 dollar HoneyTone mini amp and use headphones the sound is perfect, so happy!)
The tuning pegs sometimes you have to push in a bit when turning, that’s common.but once tuned...

Steve: Spent a decade playing the violin as a kid/teen, but wanted to give it ago again now as an adult. Seemed fun and affordable.

Overall, my experience after a few hours with it has left me pleasantly surprised.

-Quick delivery.
-9V battery came sealed and worked as expect. Putting it in backwards the first time did not kill the instrument- whew.
-The bow looks and feels like a proper bow -- it didn't feel like cheap crap, sounded fine to me,
-The rosin seemed fine. It didn't come scored, but it was effective. time will tell.
- About the same weight as a normal violin; perhaps a tad lighter.
- It is a quiet violin -- much quieter than an accoustic violin, but it still does make 'some' noise.
- The strings are proper strings -- they held their tuning well enough and didn't break despite over tuning them by quite a bit at first.
- Looks great for the price. The red metallic one has a mild wood grain-like added to it, and the metallic aspect is pretty mild.
- It feels like a proper 4/4 full size violin -- if it's off, I can't notice it.
- the neck of the violin feels proper size; not much problem hitting notes or holding it.
- the headphones it...

Paul O: Overall, the violin is a wonderful product, but it does have some minor flaws. I ordered mine in pearl white, and the paint coat could of used a bit more help; the scroll was a little messy and there were a few thin cracks in the painting along the fingerboard and neck of the violin and along some of the seams. This was kind of expected (being it is white, they are more noticeable) and it may be from the paint drying or dry conditions. The cracks are thin and not in obvious places so it was not much of an issue, but ordering a darker color may hide these flaws altogether.

When the violin arrived, the bridge was not in place, rather on the side and not in any packaging, indicating it may of been set before being shipped. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be, but it was not difficult to put back on (I recommend if you don't know how, take it to a music shop and they will do it for free, along with tuning your instrument). The only issue was when I put the bridge on and started to tune, I noticed the tailpiece rattled. The fine-tuners were not entirely secured and was causing a rather annoying buzz while plucking or playing the instrument. If you look closely at the...

Candice: Before I start, it is best to know that I am a novice to the violin, so fellow beginners may find my review useful, while those that have more experience under their belt may find it over-enthusiastic. With that being said, I shall break down what I find good, 'meh', and bad.

The Good:
- The case is amazing quality. It is light-weight but sturdy and could probably take a good bit of a beating when toted around. The zippers zip and unzip easily - though, the zipper on the small front pocket needs a bit of force when zipping it back up around the left corner. All the straps feel secure and the rubber grip on the side strap is very comfortable. The interior is a beautiful sky blue velvet material that really makes the red of the mahogany violin pop.
- The violin itself is stunning. The photo did not do the color of it any justice. The photo makes it seem more like it is a deep burgundy when it is, in fact, a rich, red mahogany. The fading on the back of the neck definitely adds to its beauty.
- EDIT: The strings do just fine. The sound they produce is clean and crisp. I will not be replacing them until they need to be replaced as they do their job right.
- The rosin...
