Installation was easy. Very happy with how it turned out. I liked the option of having logs or the rocks. We got it mainly for cosmetic appeal but it does put out a fair amount of heat.

Like the fireplace for the ambiance. Have not tried the heat portion yet. The reason for the 3 rating was due to the following. Cord is only 6’, which my closest outlet was 8’ away and the owners manual states not to use an extension cord or power surge. I had to call out an electrician and of course since this is like a spacer heater that pulls 1500 watts, two electricians stated I needed a dedicated outlet and they stated it was illegal to install an outlet inside an existing fireplace. So after 2 weeks, $300.00 for the fireplace and $400.00 for the electrician I finally got it installed; unfortunately, with an unsightly black cord running to the new outlet. I plan to find some ways to disguise the cord was just hoping the outlet could have been installed in the fireplace.
