Lewis D. Medeiros: I needed a way to fill my tires conveniently, since I'm a Lyft driver and there are times when getting to a Wawa air pump or something similar isn't practical. This device is compact enough to keep in the floor compartment in the rear of my Kia Soul hatchback, and plugs directly into the car's circular charging ports to run. If run for an extended period of time, it apparently gets quite warm, but unless a tire has lost entirely too much pressure, it should never come to that; and if it does, simply letting it cool down for a while before continuing use will be enough. For routine tire-pressure maintenance, it's perfect.

It does make a fair bit of noise, so one might not want to use it, say, late at night or in the early-morning hours in a suburban neighborhood. But it's also not too loud, either.

The pressure display seems accurate enough, but can sometimes take a few seconds to get a precise read on the tire.

The only real complaint I have is that chord length is just enough to get at the tires on both sides of my car, so long as it is run out of the correct side and you take care not to let it get hooked on the gear-shift or seat-corners. It could have done...

Discriminating Buyer: Decided to buy this because the old compressor I had didn't give accurate readings and was slow to inflate a tyre - not to mention that while running the dial was hard to read for me to get an accurate reading. This is so nice! Digital display, plus you can program it with the amount of air required!

I have a generator that had two flat tyres. Removed the tyres since the generator wasn't near to the car. Generator tyres said 30 psi. Set it in the compressor, attached the tube and was shocked at how quickly it inflated! Didn't fill to 30 psi though because when I started filling one tyre, water started coming out of the tyre and the other one had a crack, but it filled the tyres from 0 to 23 and 27 psi in a matter of seconds, definitely wasn't running for 5 minutes! I guess it's because the tyres are small, but even then I was impressed.

Joseph Hanson: The build quality I feel is what lacks here, but it certainly works pretty well. It's all plastic so if it dropped it may not make it, but I'm not afraid of that happening. I have a few nitpicks so here they are: the cable is pretty short, I was able to reach all around on my double cab Tacoma but it was close to not making it. I wish there was a handle on top and I wish the cable management was a little better too.theres a small cavity for the part that connects to the tire, the power cord I just wrapped around the whole unit. If those were the places it has to cut costs down, I think it's perfectly acceptable.

Cherylle S.Cherylle S.: The VacLife Air Compressor Model: ATJ-1166 is an upgrade to a VacLife previous model purchased a few years ago. The design of the hose and housing compartment after years of use, folding the hose and storing it caused the hose to let out the air around the bent areas, it was inoperable and needed a replacement. FAST!!! Hopped on Amazon to reorder the item but it was no longer available. In all these years working with this company, they have always given me the best customer service which is why I returned to VacLife wanting to repurchase the item. I was elated to find that they had a newer model and ended up buying it. The shipping came at lightning speed and was at my home within 18 hours, which came just in time as my low tire sensor light came on the same day of purchase, and needed to head out to church in the morning. The older model was perfect! Because of the chrome wheels, I would lose air in my tires more than I wanted to so having the tire compressor came in handy. The peace of mind it gave me knowing I had this for emergencies was beyond measure.

I wasn't sure if the newer model would at all compare to the previous model but it sure did and then some! It...

Jeff S.: Have used this little gem three times since it’s arrival, my bike, the wife’s bike, and then my wife’s garden “mule”
Three different air pressures, all easily set, pumped up, and auto shut off when the air pressure was reached.
All three sets of tires were flatter than pancakes, but this unit pumped them up in 1 or 2 short minutes……

Fairly quiet, certainly not over-powering.

My two suggestions would be 1. Make the unit a little heavier, so that it doesn’t vibrate all over the place, and 2. Make the air hose a little longer so that it gives you more leeway in placing the unit beside the tire.

All in all, a dandy little unit.
