M. BlaisM. Blais: This placemat is easy to wash, the container collects the food and my child can lean on it and still approach the table. It stays in place on the table without slipping. Should also be sold in special needs category. A must!

MR N W J OVENELLMR N W J OVENELL: It's a nice design, easy to clean and store. However we have a wooden dining table and the placemat keeps slipping towards our child. It doesn't have the necessary grip or sticking ability to ensure it stays in place so we wouldn't recommend this to others unless they devise a way to suction it to the table or add additional grip to the bade of the mat.

ashlen24: My 2 year old was wanting to sit at the family table and I was a bit worried about her ruining the wood table or getting food all over the chairs. So I ordered this hoping it would be that extra safety precaution. To her it just looks like everyone else’s place mat but the little overhand part catches all soup and food that doesn’t make it to her mouth. I’ve had 0 food get on my linen chairs, I will continue to use a towel on the seat but those towels are food free every time also. If you have a messy eater like me who wants to be a big kid and transition to the family table I highly suggest you order this. I am not aware of this is dishwasher safe but it’s been very simple to hand rinse after each meal

Jeremy: We have just transitioned my daughter from eating on her tray to eating at the table. This looked to be a great idea and it is. It works exactly like you hope it will. It's a great size and the catch tray doesn't get in the way. Only complaint is that is doesn't really "stick" to the table. Could just be the wood on my table, but it keeps sliding down. Not enough to be at risk of sliding off the table, but to a point that the tray can't stay in a position to catch food.

Jessie: Editing to add: the company reached out directly and offered a full refund. The excellent customer service means I will give their products another try.

Any stickiness/suction that kept the placemat adhered to the table initially went away after it was washed once (even though the instructions note that it is top rack dishwasher safe). We can’t use it as advertised now because the section that catches food now weighs down the placemat and causes it to slide off the table.
