Dr. Jenn Gunsaullus: I've never had any interest in doing stand-up. I bought the book to try to learn ways to integrate more humor into my public speaking and writing. But by page 75 I started wanting to actually try stand-up! Carter is a very good teacher, the book is well-organized, and it's also quite funny with quotes by famous comics sprinkled throughout. Many of the activities are challenging but also deeply interesting...and it was fun to occasionally make myself laugh out loud while writing them out. I already have three friends who have purchased this book in the past month because I've been talking non-stop about what I've been learning and how fun it is. (One note: In the beginning of the book she mentions MANY times about downloading her accompanying workbook. I'm sure that would help with keeping all the exercises organized, but it's not necessary and I just bypassed those comments.} Unexpectedly an excellent book!

Nikodem Wieczorek: Pro:
-Super hilfreiche Tipps für alle Level. Viele der Tipps mögen auf der Hand liegen, jedoch weiß ich aus Erfahrung, dass das rein intuitive Erlernen und Anwenden Jahre dauert.
-Renommierte Autorin

Al: One can go from total ignorance of comedy to a beginner professional in less than six months by:
Reading and rereading this book (you will find something new every time you reread this book.)
Doing the exercises in the book.
As per book recommendations, you can work with a partner (you can find one on Facebook and work together in ZOOM).
This book is a must if you are seriously willing to learn comedy. I believe that you cannot find any other book to learn stand-up comedy as efficiently and thoroughly.
I love Judy and her books with a passion. They changed my life for the better.

Rich Johnson: Fate of finding The New Comedy Bible got me off the toilet!
It's weird how some things happen in life. I have been retired for a couple years, and constantly searching for my Nirvana. Because I was an entrepreneur for 40 years, I kept landing on starting some business. Over and over I said to myself....keep looking, you'll find it. My butt would literally fall asleep, from sitting on the can, thinking, thinking, thinking. I finally learned two things 1) I know know what David was doing, and 2) COMEDY!!!! I have always enjoyed pranking, telling stories, and generally making people laugh, both in business and with friends. What better next phase than doing it with purpose. Now, if I only knew where to go for some training, hmmmmmm. From the heavens came The New Comedy Bible. Shortly after my epiphany, I was on a little BNB vacation with my wife. So I'm sitting on the can, and on the very thoughtfully placed book shelf, I found "The Comedy Bible". After just a few pages, I was hooked (and once again my tush was numb). I immediately searched for it and found to my great delight there was a NEW Comedy Bible! I just got it and I am blowing through it. I can't wait to start putting...

Nidhi: Before placing order for The New Comedy Bible I was thinking too much .Whether it is worth purchasing or not .as I had already a copy of original comedy Bible. But now I am so happy .Had I paid attention to my suspicious inner voice I would have missed a whole world.
Judy Carter has not written this book at a project. She ,herself, has been in the field of comedy as a trainer and performer for last so many years and has felt a need to rewrite the book with almost totally new material and insight. Certainly,in last 20 years world has changed a lot and stand up comedy too. I was also feeling sometime while visiting original comedy Bible that it needs to be readdressed with respect to new angle, new example, new developments taking place in the field of comedy and... voila... Judy was already writing the book. It is a must if you are trying stand up comedy as career, hobby or whatever. Even if you are established in your field to some extent this book and it's exercises will benefit you lot as I am feeling day by day while going through it. A must for aspiring standup comedians if not for everyone.

#AskMissPatience: Many years ago, 2OO2 to be exact, I’d decided to do amateur stand up to improve stage presence and craft humor for audience id eventually speak in front of for business.
A tiny ad in a paper in the Raleigh, NC area offered a six week live class. I was hooked. But, had to put things on hold after relocating as nothing was local in my new area.
In about 2006 stumbled upon The Comedy Bible. In a new city found a hole in the wall club with amateur night. For two years almost every week was at one of three clubs.
On weekends, with an unlimited pass studied two comics for two shows with different audiences. Began doing my ‘waiting in line’ gig while at stores checking out. Found opportunities to ‘practice’ on stage or impromptu audiences most anywhere. Especially with students in my classroom.
What I remember most about that time period was Judy response to an email I’d sent as homework from the book. Through these years stared at the note and never forgot.
With social media making everyone on the planet more accessible found Judy on LinkedIn a few years ago. I’ll never forget when she accepted my request to connect.
I’ve...

Marco: I have read the first edition of this book, and while it was more relaxed without constant references to a workbook :), I have enjoyed reading it again. I even know now how to structure my file system, which was something I absolutely did not expect, though I was hoping for more information on how to lose weight.
And lose I did, by laughing. Even in the face of at least five warnings that the jokes in this book are sacred and theft will be tracked down.
Sorry, for making some weird remarks: I did love it. I think Judy Carter is a gem, this book is brillant and if I ever wanted to go on an island I would definitely take three things with me: food, water and my dog. And this book - in my heart. Thanks Judy.
