Amazon Customer: This is the third book, second course I’ve purchased that Chris Sajnog wrote and about the system he teaches. If you are open minded and want to learn a working system to improve your marksmanship, Chris’ system works! I’m slowly chunking my way to being a better marksman!

Rio: Comprehensive, lots of info for a good price. Officer Sajnog emphasizes sight acquisition on the front post of the handgun. Keep your eyes on your target while drawing, then onto the painted front site. Less so for the rear sites- it’s the front site centered/leveled between the rear sites that’s important for shot accuracy.
Actually an overload of info for civilians I think. Would be best to take a tactical class to better understand at least some of the Navy Seal concepts discussed. Did it for my basic pistol course with an NRA certified/retired police officer. A State hunting license can qualify one for a handgun permit, though offers limited details on handling, range safety, storage, and maintenance.
Like books on karate katas- if you’re intermediate/advanced then Sajnog’s ideas are more likely familiar. Unless you’re currently/retired military, newbies or a 65 yr old hobbyist like me won’t be able to absorb all the material in this book. Don’t wanna be a Rambo- mainly enjoy learning different aspects of gun sports.

Richard H: Great read! Chris talks about the mental aspects of shooting first and then gets into the meat and potatoes about the fundamentals of shooting..great book! thank you!

Avid Reader: Buy this book! I've given this book review much thought. It's not Shakespeare; it's better. This is why you should buy this book.

1. It's cheaper than wasting ammo at the range and not improving your skill.
2. It's written by an expert and not a self-professed expert. He's a real one, and his life and others depended upon their shooting skills and marksmanship.
3. It's well written and exceptionally illustrated. The prose is concise and to the point. The illustrations help guide you through the prose or vice versa.
4. As a teaching manual, the instructor gives you homework at the end of each chapter. Remember, he is a retired Navy SEAL and an instructor..
5. It's not his way or the highway. He respects differences and acknowledges you must manage your differences with his techniques and training.
6. The focus is on the fundamentals and mechanics of becoming a marksman, and it explains the basics of shooting well from paper targets to competition to tactical.
7. You do not need unlimited ammunition though he does admit it was really nice to have as a Navy SEAL. Use dry fire training repeatedly in your training regimen.
8. He does not emphasize speed. He...

Tyrus: I spent some time in the military when I was young, thirty years ago. To say that my skills had deteriorated would be an understatement. I recently took up shooting again as a hobby I could share with a grown son. We both went to the range a few times then I bought Chris Sajnogs book. I followed the simple steps he outlines and low and behold my shooting improved. No I was not an instant marksman but the improvement was noticeable. I am convinced this book made a difference.

Johannes Reiter: There are so many perfect ratings out there for this book that i couldn't believe it to be true. Well, it is. This book is really well written and has so many good advice that really helped me not only with shooting, but all around. And that was even before i was halfway through the book.
If you want to get better at shooting and bring a bit more discipline in life without even straining overly much: this is your book.

Stuart Whelan: The first thing you realize when you start reading this book is that you are asked to put aside your current paradigms and approach what is taught with a open and enquiring mind. The next thing the author asks is to put into practice what is being taught if it works great you can now develop a new skill if it doesn't well that's ok your existing methods may work better for you.
The author's writing style is reflective of his extensive training background and he uses subtle humour to keep interest and acronyms to help the reader recall important points.
If you want to be the best shooter you can be this book is highly recommended.

Jude: Ten years ago, I sat down and read Jim Owens' books in an effort to improve my marksmanship with my rifles and pistols and got excellent results. The benefits of systematic training go without saying. In the southern United States most of us good-ol'-boys and girls grow up with guns in our hands, yet we never take the time or expend the effort to really learn to shoot. In spite of this lack of discipline, some of us manage to shoot reasonably well, but most end up being sloppy and inaccurate. Reading a book on the subject is looked down upon as nerdy and pretentious. But I submit that no amount of trigger time will ever compensate for disciplined and systematic training. I can remember reading Rogue Warrior, Dick Marcinko's (founder of Seal Team Six) biography as a teenager and hearing him wax poetical regarding the virtues of dry firing firearms as an essential element of training. I took it to heart and have benefited markedly as a result. Nevertheless, every time I say how important it is and how much I value it, people sneer at me like I am some kind of sissy before turning and shooting crappy groups or bump-firing aimlessly at discarded soda bottles 4 yards downrange. (Who's...
