Lynne G: As a senior, it's been decades since my coloring days. This book has opened doors to a rewarding hobby for me. Having no idea how or where to start, this provided a better overall intro than wading thru various videos. The practice pages were invaluable and I still refer to the information within

L. Clark: I love this book on learning to color. Everything is easily explained and there are samples in the book to try it out. I was very impressed that it is so easy for someone to learn more advanced techniques to color.

Annette D: It was very good and a great reminder of how to choose mix and choose colors. Especially like the light theory as always having a problem choosing direction there.🥰🥰🥰

POVPOV: This is the kind of book you wish you had when you ate taking those first steps into the world of coloring, and it is a vast and large and colorful world as you will soon discover. This book will provide all those building blocks of knowledge: from mediums to materials to the very basics in color theory and there's even a little room for practical application -- the
option is there to color directly in the book!
The tips alone are a time saver. Happy coloring!

WendyWendy: This is a great book being new to the world of colouring in.
Simple to follow instruction and has made an amazing difference and I am learning new skills.
Showed to a friend who has now purchased as well.
Photos of learning what monochromatic means and I love this technique.
Great referencing guide for learning all about the colour wheel.

T. Chamberlain: I'm no expert at colouring, learnt the basics (at school many years ago!) but wanted to get some hints and ideas. I found there wasn't a great deal available that covered my needs but this book I found useful, I gained some new mediums to work with along with ideas on using different mediums. The book starts with a guide to colouring supplies.. I found this most useful. The rest of the book covers colour, blending shading and layering along with images to experiment with. Its a book for beginner's and those needing inspiration. To compliment this book I purchased Colorist's Special Effects by Helen Elliston...very useful (see my review)

J. Smith: This book ended up being a little more remedial than I was looking for. That isn't necessarily a *bad* thing (and, for some people, that might be exactly what they are looking for!) but it is worth considering, first.
The beginning of this is a pretty large section that takes a fairly in-depth look at the various different types of coloring medias available (colored pencils, markers, pens, etc.), and even compares different subtypes of certain media (e.g., wax-based colored pencils vs. oil-based colored pencils).
This book will really be the most beneficial for people who are still on the edge of this hobby—people who are either looking to take it up or those who have just started—and it will be less beneficial to those who have already been dabbling with coloring for a while.
There is still plenty good information in there for people who have already chosen their media and are already familiar with much of the basic coloring techniques, just not as much as there would be otherwise.
So, would I recommend this? If you are somebody who is still on the edge (either looking to begin or have started very recently), and are somebody who does not have much...
