Ms J Manistre: This book on acting is full of interesting graphics and text fonts and layout on each page providing an engaging, informative book to dip in and out of. Bought for a young teenager and they really enjoyed and learnt from it.

Mark: There's nothing wrong with the book itself--I just thought it would deal more with acting per se, rather than the business of being an actor. If I were an actor I would find the info valuable. The price of the book was reasonable, they used minimal packaging (but enough to protect the book) and it arrived in plenty of time.

Duncan Brown: This is a very interesting and different book on the technique of acting.
It has lots of tips and advice on what to do if you are an actor. It tells you on how to learn your lines from a script, what to do with your costume when you have finished wearing it, how to research your character when have got a part in a tv show or film.
The lists of tips and advice is endless in this pocket size book.
I RECOMMEND IT.

alex james: The book isn't over whelming, you can tell its been very well thought out to grab your attention with as little words as possible. To cut all the BS out and tell you what you need to hear from a veteran actor. I've only recently started to get back into acting and wanting to peruse a career in it, while looking into the industry I've decided to buy several books to help me. This here has been my first read of many more to come.

I wouldn't say this is the best book for people just starting acting, however, its something you can come back to when you've delved into the world of acting and to keep you motivated

Tony R: I've bought 5 or 6 copies of this one and given them to young actors. It's priceless information for any aspiring actor....and it's presented in a fun format that makes you feel like you've picked up the author's own private notebook (complete with highlightings, penciled notes and underlinings.)

A fantastic resource you'll turn back to over and over.

K. Chubb: This book was a gift for my son who is just starting his career. He said it has some good information and is worth reading.

"Never forget why you are lucky ... You have a dream. You have a passion."

Ca55idy: I should probably caveat this review by saying I am not an actor. Nor ever have or am intending to be. So arguably I am not the intended audience - but equally I've read (and enjoyed) quite a few childrens books over the years so feel a precedent has been set.

Anyway, I'm a big fan of Any Nyman's. Good actor and by all acounts, the brains behind Derren Brown (and I don't mean that as a slight on Mr Brown...). So I was looking forward to reading some of his thoughts on acting and life in general. Overall I finished the book feeling slightly disappointed. This was probably as much to do with my expectations as I really enjoyed reading Andy's thoughts and tips - but I would have liked more. The book is thin and really just a collection of one-line quotes that could probably be condesned into a couple of pages of A4.

So I think if you set your expectations at the right level (think 20 minute conversation with Andy Nyman whereby he shouts a variety of advice at you) then I think you'll enjoy.

Michael Rakosi: Great rules for life and for performing , the man hits it in on the head. Taking old and new "chestnuts", he puts it in a logical way that defies opposition. Great Buy, Michael

Kindle Customer: An imperfect treatise. Sure, it gives you a few "rules" for being an actor, but certainly not much more than one man's own personal experience. I cannot, in all good conscience, recommend it. Charles Reap ReadAReap.Com
