Kate Mergener: A great send-off for How to Train Your Dragon! I loved seeing the concept art and the locations that they created for the backgrounds in this new and final installment. My only qualm is that I wish there had been a little bit more character art that was from the rough pencil design in pre-production. Some more of the art of Nico Marlet would have been nice to see, since he started off from the original film doing a lot of that character work. Also would have enjoyed a couple more of the early sketches of Simon Otto, and maybe even a couple more of the background layouts from Pierre-Olivier Vincent. A lot of it seemed to be more orientated towards written commentary and the three-dimensional aspects now, which I get because technology has obviously advanced. Guess I'm a bit of a stickler because I like the 2D and the rough stuff to see where that goes from there in progression. Probably why I enjoyed a lot of the sketches of the Dragons including the young furies that pop up in the film later. Still it definitely gave us some backstory, as well as filled in the gaps for ending this movie trilogy.

Ross: (hint) check the back cover sleeve for a nice little silhouetted surprise. this book is so pretty with many good passages giving background information and actor insight. the art as always is stunningly good. If you like art books, and even have a passing interest in how to train your dragon, you will love this book. If you had to choose one out of the three though, this makes for a great choice if you aren't in love with the original sketches and suck from the original, and aren't in love with the price of the second movies art book

Kimberly Crick ArtKimberly Crick Art: The media could not be loaded.  Not only is the artwork in this book beautiful, but they balanced the content between humans, dragons and environment quite well. I loved the first book, which was dragon heavy including idea sketches for different dragon types. The second book felt like it had too many pages dedicated to humans and environment. That was really sad because the 2nd How to Train your Dragon movie had by far the highest quantity of different types of dragons in it, yet hardly any were featured in the book.

This "Hidden World" book, like the movie, is focused more on just a few dragons and the love story relationship between Toothless and Lightfury along with Hiccup and Astrid. The environment is breathtaking and this book has a few of the behind the scenes ideas you don't get to see in the movie. I love the pages dedicated to the baby Nightfury/Lightfury dragons (the "Night Lights" are so preciously drawn).
