Nicole FernandoNicole Fernando: Arrived the next day after purchase. I was initially going to buy it from the United-States (I live in Canada) but then I saw that they had another NEW option that was only 1$ more with no shipping fees. The book is brand new with the plastic covering. It arrived with no scratch or damage. Very happy with my purchase!

AwesomeJohn22: As a huge fan of this series, though admittedly not until after the series had nearly ended on TV, I want to love every bit of ancillary Avatar: The Last Airbender fiction. I got so hyped for the live action movie, and was so let down. I wanted mote Avatar, more GOOD Avatar, and eventually went searching for news from the creators of the cartoon. That's when I stumbled on the existence of the comics, and I knew I had to buy them. So I gathered up old Amazon gift cards to alleviate the strain on my wallet, and bought The Promise and the first two parts of The Search (part three was not published yet) all at once, and I am so glad that I did. The art is beautiful, and the story so immediately captures the tone and pace of the cartoon that before long it was like watching the show again, which was in turn like revisiting an old friend.
Having already watched the early portion of the sequel to The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra, it was clear pretty quick that the premise of this comic was going to be to bridge the gap between the original series and that one, or at least to begin to do so, and it does a fantastic job of this, with many memorable moments of foreshadowing....

Kindle Customer: Avatar the Last Airbender-The Promise is an excellent book and a very natural sequel to the original series, more so even than the Legend of Korra. It starts out not 5 minutes after the end of the original series and proceeds to tell a whole new story that feels like a very natural continuation of the original. Where the original series was about ending the hundred years war this is a story about what happens to the people of the nations afterwards. Over the years the fire nation colonized multiple parts of the earth kingdom. Some of the colonies are as old as the war meaning that some people have lived on these "stolen" lands all their lives. What do you do about that? Although the answer seems simple at first The Promise does what the series is known to do best. Show the reality of the situation and it's complications in a thoughtful and entertaining yet elementary way that anyone old enough to enjoy the series will understand.
The art work for the story is superb and looks just like the art of the show. The story is excellently told and I was surprised to learn that the creators had meant for this to be a movie but nickeldeon turned it down for some reason. The...
