TexasCasa: What kid doesn’t love this book series? From my understanding, this is not a new book from the series, but two books from the series combined into an anniversary one. Anyways, it didn’t stop my 8 year old from re-reading and loving.

Naomi Eaglehorn: This book is banned. The boys are mischievous and always into trouble. It was a cute story and I can understand why kids would like it. Adults are hypersensitive which is why I’m assuming it got banned.

Wondering momma: I usually like to go to the library for FREE books but my son loves this series. They are like 200 pages long of comics. I read one through to him and we both enjoyed it very much. I love the hard cover and the pages and the animation. It's a great book that I don't mind buying for my children because they are good quality with wholesome content.

Mal: When we pre-ordered this months ago, it seemed like it would be a new story celebrating the 25th anniversary, not a reprint of the first book, which we already have. The new Dog Man comic is the only saving grace. We’re feeling pretty misled.

Sarah's Rules: It was not long ago that I treated an irrepressible 8 year old boy at the children's hospital where I worked. This kid was something else. He was smart, articulate and bubbly. We got to talking about books, and I told him about Roald Dahl's 'The Twits' (one of my long-standing favourites by that author). "Have you read Captain Underpants?" he asked me. Then he proceeded to regale me with the story of Mr Krupp and Harold and George. I was intrigued.

At the follow-up appointment, my patient brought me one of his own copies of Captain Underpants, so I could see what he was going on about. I promised him the next time he came for an appointment, I would have read the whole series. His mom told me later, "You're the only doctor here who's willing to read Captain Underpants. You're doing pretty well."

And here I am. I read Captain Underpants and I thoroughly loved it. It is one of the most banned books in libraries in the US, which probably goes to show you that it is extremely effective at engaging its target audience.
