Ben Al: If you are not a Christian but still want to know the rationale behind the Christian faith behind creation account even after all these scientific facts, this book will give you a very detailed insight.

Rich: Addressing the questions: where and why the universe came to be, what or who is responsible for it, why are we here, and how will it end, is the theme of this book. The book relies on both scripture and science to address these powerful perennial questions. Can the author provide answers?

From the author’s perspective, since its very beginning, the universe has been planned, designed, and was led to evolve in such a way as to make the emergence and evolution of human life inevitable. This is evident in the physics and chemistry found everywhere even in the descriptions located in the scriptures. There are numerous non-fine-tuning subjects which are discussed as well and are equally as important. This thesis strongly suggests a creator with a purpose in mind.

These conditions do not necessarily preclude the emergence and evolution of beings other than humans somewhere else out there. They may have arisen before, in synchrony with, or may develop later in time, than humans. They may be multi-dimensional as well.

The author believes both science and the scriptures are saying the same thing; God did it. A lot of people believe this even those who will not...

FW: The author, who became an astrophysicist, was given a Bible when a young man, and was amazed to find references there to things that were only discovered long after it was written. Well worth reading

nick y.: Some of the science is not easy to understand , but I persevered with it and am very glad I did . As far as I can tell it's an up to date book , well researched , and to me at least proved how the universe was designed to support the building of the earth . The book also explains how God has allowed us to study the universe , why it will not last for ever , and how this relates to the Bible .

Edward C. Nielsen, Famous Author: Modern scientists usually don’t have much to say about the origin of life and the universe, because they just can’t explain how He did what He did. The Bible explains it all, but not in the technical terms scientists can accept. Since they can’t figure out how He did it, they usually avoid the subject, or, as in the case of folks like Richard Dawkins, claim the biblical version of creation is nothing but fairy tales and pipe dreams.
Hugh Ross is an astrophysicist at the California Institute of Technology, and he’s one scientist who strongly believes biblical teachings, explaining them in scientific terms in the recommended book and several others. This paper will give you a taste of his reasoning, and you don’t need to know astronomy and mathematics to understand it. It definitely is written on a layman’s level.
Our solar system (sun, planets, moons, comets, asteroids, etc.) is in the Milky Way Galaxy. The Milky Way is pinwheel-shaped, and our solar system is located out on one of the arms. Ross goes to great lengths to explain why this location is precisely the right place for life to form and thrive. He also explains why it took so long after the universe...

FPerry: The initial chapters of the book were interesting and even inspiring. He pointed out a lot of ways that the Earth is a very particular location, not one of many in the universe that could have either brought forth life (if you are into Evolution), or been the selected site for creation or divine direction (if you're a believer in 6-day Creation or far longer Intelligent Design). However, although he indicated an old universe and old Earth along the way, the later chapters in the book he used to link many Biblical events, sometimes here making some connections that were not as scientifically valid (IMHO). He seemed to be fitting pieces together here, when there could be other explanations (or no explanations). Looking through the other reviews of the book, I found that its reception was, however, generally positive. Certainly worth the read, and the thinking that it provokes, particularly at a time where the average person thinks (due to the attention that the media gives any astronomy discovery) that there are suitable planets for human life just a hop across the galaxy, and that life on other planets is almost guaranteed. His observations indicate that this is not the case, and...

Amazon Customer: I bought the book, as a layman seeking to know a bit more about the latest theories of cosmology, and findings in astronomy. Hugh is well qualified to explain astronomy. Hugh does state, as a fact though, the idea of dark matter and energy, when in truth it has not been observed, or established as a fact, as I have read from other sources. For me, the whole old earth thing is a bit too naturalistic, too much like the atheistic evolutionary paradigm. There is rather a lot of evidence for a young earth. But, the RTB team are making a good effort at framing a Christian belief, without ignoring all the scientific evidence. For me, the RTB theology/science merger is not entirely possible, and the bible needs to be examined carefully, without having to accept that every bit of it is true, as a doctrine.
I have read an article, by Hugh's colleague, explaining how the genealogy in the bible, might be a list of major patriarchs that gave rise to such and such, not listing absolutely everybody.
I recently watched a lecture by a young earth creationist, who stressed that we should keep an open mind, and when something is not a fact, it should not be taught as a fact. There are other...
