B: Move over, bedtime stories – 'An Elephant in My Kitchen' is the wild ride you never knew you needed! Françoise, the chic Parisienne turned elephant superhero, battles poachers, rebellious elephants, and even a skeptical security team. It's like a soap opera in the African bush, with a feisty matriarch named Frankie stealing the spotlight. From lost baby elephants to a hippo named Charlie with a fear of water, this book is the hilarious and heartwarming tale of Françoise's wild journey. If you thought your life was wild, wait until you read about hers – elephants, drama, and laughter, oh my!

Karen Encelewski: There was much more about running the business of caring for orphaned animals than the elephants from the first book. They popped up here and there in the story, but no real personal interactions with them. There are some personal interactions with raising rhinos, caring for the infants and all the work that took. You learned that as dangerous as rhinos are, they can be very tame when raised from the time they were tiny. It's worth reading to find out how passionate some people are about saving a species, and the effort that goes into it, but it doesn't go into detail about the elephants or the rhinos the way the first book did.

B. J. Morris: This is a great and interesting story. It led me to The Elephant Whisperer which was written before this book. (so read it first if you can) I loved reading about their work to save the orphaned animals and have been following them since reading the book.

Linda Heinig: This story shows how cruel mankind can be to the animals of the wild but how they preserve and how they are much like humans in many ways

Shimon Z. Klein: Just finished reading this amazing book. Francoise Malby-Anthony, the wife of the late Lawrence Anthony, who was a dedicated conservationist and co-owner of the Thula Thula Game Reserve in Kwazulu. Lawrence had an amazing talent of communicating with an elephant tribe that was threatened to be destroyed. His devoted wife, originally from Paris, and who was just as dedicated. Both had decided to save these elephants from destruction and adopted them on their reserve. Their devotion and love had given them a remarkable understanding of elephants as well as rhinoceros that were in danger because of poaching, many of whom were orphaned because of this poaching cancer.

Reading this book gives one a tremendous empathy for these animals under their care. There are incidents vividly described the heartlessness and cruelty of poachers which are to this day a terrible threat endangering the survival of these animals. One is left with the feeling that poachers ought to be shot and killed on sight. These ferocious and cruel scumbags do not deserve to remain alive on this planet. The cruel traps and slow deaths amidst terrible suffering all for the sake of the despicable ivory trade for...
