M. N.: Everything i hope it would be and MORE. The relationships build so sweetly and are crafted with such care. The setting is fun and well drawn, without being overwrought. I can’t get enough of this.

Rey: A world of intricate culture, fed to the reader in tantalizing bites. A heartwarming, igniting romance. Tales of recovery, reforging, and restoring of hope for the world, faith in people. Simply put: a good read with clever wordplay, strong scenes and pacing, and characters brimming with life.

Courtney Norris: While the beginning of the book is a little slow, the book soon enough makes way for a great romance and wonderful representation. I quickly grew endeared to Nathan and Vlad, along with Ursula later in the book. If anything, my main complaint is that it ended too quickly! I would have loved to see more of the three together before the end of the book, but I'm happy knowing that more is on the way.
I can't wait for the sequel and a return to Nathan Vlad and Ursula's relationship as it progresses!

Miriam: Due to a cocktail of burnout and uncooperative brain chemicals, I've found it nearly impossible to read anything lately--and even then, I certainly haven't been able to read anything from start to finish. Well, thanks to Hunger Pangs I can finally say that I've been able to read through a whole book. Not only that, but I had a thoroughly good time doing so.
The characters were fun, the writing was enjoyable and easy to read, and I often found myself laughing out loud. (We love sneaky references and easter eggs in this house.) The serious moments landed too. Speaking of which, I'm very much looking forward to the sequel, as I'm sure the world-ending stakes will continue to raise, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Andrea H.: It's the first book I read through in years, and in one sitting at that. It just caught me and wouldn't let me go till I finished.
It's a charming read and I can't await the next installment - total recommendation for friends of the supernatural and their affairs. The characters are lovely and lively (apart from the ones that are supposed to be neither ;-) and I look forward to see them again and the continuation of their tale.

Sofia H-S: I usually don't like to start series which aren't finished and this is such a good example of why. Now I have to wait for book #2...
True Love Bites is a wonderful start though, it's an engaging read that draws you in with plenty of humor and a really sweet romance. What caught me though was how wonderfully subtle the worldbuilding is. Demorra gives just enough detail to orient the reader in the world and make it feel established and real without overburdening the text with explanations. This is a book which trusts the reader to slot the pieces together on their own but doesn’t hold back the complexity. I very much look forward to finding out more of the politics and machinations of the broader world in future books.
Another thing that needs to be mentioned is the inclusiveness of Hunger Pangs. I should possibly admit that I haven’t read much romance in the past few decades, so I am not qualified to comment on the genre as a whole in a way that is not twenty or thirty years out of date but again, I was delightfully surprised by how easily Demorra handled the inclusion not just of a polyamorous relationship but of physical disability as well as PTSD and neurodivergence....

Morphin: Admittedly, i was waiting eagerly for this book to come out. I have (not personally) known the Author from my internet experience and fell in love not only with her writing but also her sense of humour.
The book was such a joy to read, I simply couldn’t pull myself away from it and ever since I‘ve finished it i absolutely want to read it again.
Joy Demorra has the ability to play with well known romance tropes (and tropes in general) in a way that is refreshing and fun all while being able to subvert them into something meaningful. Her world building is lovely to follow without being too easy or on the nose (except when she wants it to be.)
What stood out to me most, and is part of the reason i keep bugging my friends to go read it is the way she writes about disability, abuse (or toxic relationships) and consent.
The book made me laugh, snicker and cry. Cry both from empathy with the characters as well as with joy. I cannot stop thinking about the Consent Scene because she handles it in a way that doesn‘t only feel so real but also because i cant remember having read anything that comes close to how she handles it.
The characters are so well written that at...

Hanna: Finally managed to sit down and read this book after getting it and tore through it this is one of the first books in a long time that I've absolutely devoured in one day, the characters are fun and engaging and very importantly authentic.
