Aki T: Even though I gave the Treblab X5 (2020) model full five stars does not mean they're perfect in every possible way. But I've spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars looking for a pair of true wireless headphones I can wear while running - and X5s are by far the best for me. I did buy the original X5s as well but ended up returning them for two main reasons: 1) the connectivity was unreliable as the other earbud would cut off every now and then 2) the battery life of the headphones deteriorated within 30 days. But the original model was a great fit with the awkward looking earfins.
It certainly seems the 2020 model has fixed the connectivity issue by going from Bluetooth 4.2 to 5.0 - and I've had none of the issues I had with the 2018 model. The pairing process is easy, quick and connection is reliable, so this model deserves full 5 stars for that.
I loved the beryllium drivers of the 2018 model - and that's one thing I wish Treblab hadn't changed. I'm not saying the 2020 model has a bad sound quality - it really doesn't. But I just feel the previous driver gave just a little bit more oomph to the sound. The sound on this new model is great - but it's not the best...

Anyway, onto my review of the X5's...
The good: Sleeker design, improved sound quality, longer battery life, a true protective charging case (that you can actually carry in your pocket), great fit (customizable with the various ear pieces and stabilizers) and the ability to use either earbud for phone conversations.
The not so good: The lid to the case doesn't seem like it will be durable over the long haul. The lid is tricky to close with the stabilizers on (you have to turn them the right way). The only other issue I have with the buds is the ability to use them individually. Once you pair them separately, you practically have to perform surgery to get them back to pairing for stereo use. Even in the process to use the left ear bud separately, it takes a little process. This is one area where AirPods will reign supreme...seamless usage regardless of which ear bud you're using. They need to design...
