S_M: Its easy to program, and it works, does what it says. I'm an IT person so my idea of easy may not be yours but for me it was trivial. If you can sync a new car's radio with your phone you can probably program this.
Why 4 stars? I would give it 5 if it had a straight plug. The flat plug I normally like, but I can't plug it into the lower outlet position on my very typical outdoor outlet in a covered weather covered box, I have to plug it in the top, and it blocks the lower plug. If I plug it into the lower outlet, I can't shut the box..... So I loose 1 outlet I otherwise would have. Be fine for a indoor plug, but not the outdoor. Will probably replace it with one that has a straight plug, then I can use both outlets on the wall.

Lynn McCord: Requires the Smart Life app (would be great if manufacturers could align on a single standard, but I digress); the app downloads, but will not install, making this nothing more than a dumb multiplug. Nearly useless.

Shelley K.: I had purchased a Meross outdoor wifi plug as I had other Meross products I was happy with. After two solid hours of struggling, making sure I was on 2.4GHz network with my iPad (like I had done with other products), I finally gave up. I sent an email to product support like others had done with great results. I did not even get a response back. So, I returned it and tried this plug.
NEEDLESS TO SAY, I took this out of the box, already had the Smart Life app on my phone, plugged it in and added it as a new device. Within two minutes it was already done. Bam. This thing works like it was supposed to. In addition, the setup actually asks you if you are using 5GHz or 2.4GHz. I don't know of any other software/hardware for these home devices that does that.
It works perfect and quick easy setup. If you are trying to decide between different outdoor smart plugs, just grab this one and be done.

TheDogsCarTheDogsCar: Update: Worked perfectly, until I started using the other 2 outlets during the Holiday's (with all LED Xmas lights). Now it randomly shuts off? Sometimes 3 times during the evening. Sometimes one outlet. Sometimes all three. I end up have to to check if it is still On (which is really annoying). It turns back On when I tell Alexa.

I had a WiFi smart plug-in, in my basement, that controlled my outside GFCI outlet. It was timed to turn On/Off my outdoor lighting. Problem is, when it was Off, I could not use the outside outlet (e.g. for power tools) without going to get my phone or going into the basement to press its switch. I can not find a GFCI outdoor outlet, that is smart. So, I started looking into these outdoor plug-ins and there seems to be quite a few of them.
What makes this unique, is it has 3 receptacles (not 1 or 2), that work independently, and they are covered (most are not covered). Also, this is 14 gauge wire, rated at 15A (not 16 at 10A or limited to 600W). Many outdoor tools are above 10A. The WiFi antenna on this is amazing. I installed it on an outbuilding (see pic), about 75' from house...

T: You use the Smart Life app to control these. It took me a bit to figure out which app they wanted me to use. It works phenomenal and I can indivually turn each outlet on or off, turn them all on/off, or set up schedules.
I used these to control my outdoor lighting because I didn’t want to leave them on 24/7 and I really hated having to unplug them and just leave the plug dangling when they weren’t in use. This lets me keep my outdoor lighting installed and I turn them all on at sunset and off four hours later, automatically.
I initially bought one for my outdoor lights and they worked so well that now I have two more for inside.
I keep the tv plugged into it and use the 30 minute timer so the whole tv turns off right at 30 minutes and I don’t have to worry about the kids getting too much screen time or losing track of time.
I’m excited to use these with our holiday lights too; it’s way better that trying to keep track of a remote like we used to do.
Setup took and minute and it only took a second to share access with my husband. I highly recommend these.

bdb: This was the easiest and quickest set up I have ever had with a smart plug. All I did was plug it in and walked over to my iPad to see if my Smart Life app had found it. Not only had the app found it, it was already downloading the program. When the download was finished, it automatically began installing it in my Smart Life app. The outlets are independently operated, so I gave each outlet a new name. Then I changed the name of the plug itself. And the installation process was done! I purchased this to replace the one I had that had been fried from a lightning hit. I used the same names (even though it was a different manufacturer) and asked Alexa to turn each one on and off. She asked me if they were for lights. I said yes. She operated each outlet seamlessly.
