Babak: Started a smart home project from scratch and all my devices work perfectly and exactly as it was described on their Amazon page, except these door sensors. None of the 4 that I bought worked.

Andrew M Eicherly: Love these. They work well and use standard batteries

ancodia: Bit pricey for what they are (I picked them up on sale) but they paired with my Sonoff Zigbee router on the first try. They use 2xAAA batteries which ARE included.

mikemac9: The first one added easily to the SmartThings app, the second one took two or three tries. SmartThings asks if the device has a QR code which I guess specifies details of the device but these don't have one so you need to click "I don't have one" in the SmartThings app and go on to add it. Not difficult but it would have been easy to print a QR code on the package.

FF: Easily connected to an Echo 4th Gen smart speaker on first discovery scan from Alexa. Set up sensor on garage door and it reports open/close notifications almost immediately even though it’s not anywhere near the Echo speaker. I have a 1 1/4” gap between the sensor and its magnet and it still works flawlessly. It works much, much better than a wifi contact sensor. The only remaining thing to determine is just how long the AA batteries will actually last… Unfortunately, the battery status is not displayed in the Alexa app in the sensor’s information so I guess you have to wait for the battery to die and the sensor stops working before you know it’s time to change the battery…

Victor: I paired this contact sensor with Aeotec SmartThings hub to automatically turn on foyer lights when someone opens the front door. I was worried because my lights are z-wave, and this contact sensor is Zigbee, but everything works well because Aeotec supports both technologies. The sensor is responsive, i.e., sufficient sensitive.

The only issue is that it’s difficult to open the thin part (the one with the magnet) if you want to screw the base to the door frame. I end up using needle nose pliers and a screwdriver, but it’s still unnecessarily complicated.

AlanHellAlanHell: I use home assistant myself, and it is very easy to add it to my zigbee network. I really like the fact that it used AAA batteries instead of those non-rechargeable button batteries. Although I will only hit 80% battery life by using rechargeable batteries, but it does not affect the functionality and stability of the device. The sensor also have quite a wide detection range. Even with thick uneven door frames, it still works fine as you can put the magnetic part further on the flat surface.

Zen: Works with Echo 4th generation and most importantly doesn't drop connection unlike another cheaper
brand did. I'm using this with a Honeywell DualTec pir relay output to trigger motion on my driveway and alert Alexa to announce there is motion detected.

Keir: Great Product. Fast setup with clear instructions. Strong adhesive is keeping it firmly to the door. No need for an extra hub if you have an Echo device with a ZigBee hub inside.

🎉customer: Updated review 11/14/22 and reinstated 5 star rating:
Apparently, during the last week or so of October 2022, there was a software issue of some sort between this device (contact & motion sensors) and my Echo Show. I think it was a zigbee issue. A lot of users of zigbee-enabled devices complained about it on reddit. I don't know the exact problem because it's all hush-hush, keep the customer uninformed. Apparently, it was corrected by Amazon after approximately one week. My Third Reality zigbee contact and motion sensors all work beautifully at the moment. Until the next glitch, of course. I reinstated my original 5 star rating because I really like how these devices work for me (except for the glitches, of course).

Updated review 10/31/22 and 1 star rating:
It worked great, until it didn’t. It disconnected from Alexa and won’t reconnect. The sensor itself works. The red light lights up when the door is open, but what good is a sensor when Alexa can’t tell you the door is open?
