wired: this is a lovely book, lots of cute retro american 00s style illustration, lovely little characters, good length of story, lots of scenarios and advice for kids on what to do when they feel angry. i bought this for my nearly 7 year old and she enjoyed it, we then re-told it to suit our situations better. its great but i think most beneficial for 4/5 or 5/6 age groups. still lovely and worth buying for us.

Melissa: Purchased these for a friend. She said she read it once with her son and saw an immediate difference in the way he coped with his anger. This book is written well for children. It teaches them to identify their anger and find healthy ways to deal with it.

Carolyn M.: All the books we have from this series have been so great for our kids. My favorite parts of the books are that the emotions are acknowledged as real and something that everyone big and small feels sometimes. I also appreciate the physical description of the emotions that are very accurate. I have three kids five and under and these have sparked some very beneficial conversation and given much needed vocabulary to little kids with big and oftentimes scary emotions. Have bought most of the series and read them repeatedly by request to my kids!

S. Howell: When I Feel Angry is part of a series of books written by a child psychologist to help children identify and understand their emotions. We have others in the series, including When I Miss You, When I Feel Scared, and When I Care About Others, but the book about anger is the one I turn to most often. The text talks about anger in a non-judgmental fashion, speaks matter-of-factly about several situations that could reasonably make a child angry, describes what the emotion itself feels like, and most importantly, offers several suggestions for what my daughter can do to handle her anger other than saying something mean, yelling, or hitting. The fact that the illustrations show a bunny rather than a little girl somehow depersonalizes the discussion so that we can talk about managing anger objectively, without making my child feel as though she is in the wrong.
Does it help? I can't speak for my daughter, but it does help me. My daughter is funny, smart, and so verbally precocious that it is easy to forget that she's only four. Four-year-olds, even verbally precocious ones, are still building their tool chests for dealing with anger and other emotional fallout from life's...

Sherry Ellis: When I Feel Angry is an excellent book to share with young children to help them deal with feelings of anger. It begins with a cute little bunny character who is experiencing all kinds of bad situations - she is being made fun of, her drawing doesn't turn out the way she likes it, the weather doesn't cooperate with her outdoor plans. She's mad! She wants to yell and hit, but realizes that doing those things will get her in trouble. So she thinks about other things she can do to help manage her anger.
The story is written in such a way that young children will be able to understand and relate to the bunny character. The illustrations are also colorful and kid-appealing. I like that the suggestions are about what to do and not so much about what not to do.
This is a perfect book for kids ages 3-7 who are having some trouble dealing with anger. I highly recommend it.
