DebiDeaux: Unlike the 2 previous books in the series, The Conjuror jumped right into action. I was riveted all the way through.
Sidra is the third member of the prison escapees and a jinni. She is being pursued by her late husband's brother, Jamra. Jamra first goes after Elena by putting her new husband into a dangerous fever dream. Thus making Elena go with him in search of Sidra. Yvette, the fae of the trio is already with Sidra in her hometown, a town of perfume magic.
The three are reunited when Elena escapes from Jamra with help of a stray dog. The trio, with the help of a local sorcerer, set about trying to defend against Jamra's attacks.

Rajchada: There was everything to like and nothing to dislike. In the fantasy genre, it stands head and shoulders with the greats. It was a fantastic end to the trilogy, but would be very excited if there was ever a return to these three friends, with more adventures. My hero is Jean-Paul, with his stoicism, loyalty and perfect love and respect for his Elena. I will be visiting this trilogy again and again.

Mary Heimerman: The three "murders" complete the final trials to a very satisfactory end. I really enjoyed this magical trilogy. A wide sweep of various magical mythology gives a brilliant setting to a great story of friendship.

Behind the Pages: Accused of the murder of her husband, Sidra returns to the village they once called home. She has given up running from the past and awful memories. It is time she faces the consequences of her actions. Jamra, her husband’s brother, seeks retribution and has waited a long time to exact his revenge. Once his magic finds Sidra, he promises to end her life and steal from her a magical artifact that will also punish humans for their mistreatment of djinn.

After all the character development Elenna went through in the first two novels, she does a complete turnaround in The Conjurer. Jamra is a vicious jinni, and there is no doubt he is immensely powerful. Yet when Elenna must face him in her vineyard, she is written as a helpless female, a damsel in distress. While she specializes in vine magic and not combat, the way she is portrayed felt demeaning. Jamra is an overbearing dominant personality, but even Elenna’s internal monologue stripped away all confidence and hope.

However, it was wonderful learning more about the djinn and Sidra. After being such a standoffish character unwilling to hold a conversation, reading the story from her point of view was fantastic....

Lance Mitchell: This is the third, and in my opinion, the best of The Vine Witch trilogy.

Who would have thought that there were so many differing talents amongst witches, fairies and jinnis? There is as much variety in the worlds of magic as there is in the world of mortals. There are also as many conflicts.

The worry is that powers of magic make those conflicts even more dangerous and devastating than wars and battles in the mortal world of man-made armaments.

In this final book of the series, Sidra is being pursued by her brother-in-law, Jamra, who is out for more than revenge for the murder of his brother. He believes that Sidra murdered her husband. He knows that she has, in her possession, an ancient relic that holds a very powerful and destructive magic.

Sidra is supported by her friends, Elena the vine witch and Yvette the fairy. A dog and another being are also lurking on the periphery and you always feel that this pair are also there to ensure that Sidra prevails over Jamra, but there are seeds of doubt which add to the tension.

The writing is superb. The pace picks up as the story races towards its conclusion and the uncertainty about how events will...
