Sara: I have a tub stopper that I can't screw off and use a tub shroom so I thought I'd give this a try. I was using something similar to the oxo good grips silicone shower and tub drain protecter but water would always back up in the tub so I'd be standing in water. Not so much with this! It's super easy to install (it easily sits around the drain) and if the water backs up it's a sign to clean out the hair. I've only used it for a few weeks but so far, so good!

Kate k: I believe this product would have worked well if it fit around my tub stopper better. But I assumed it was the right size without measuring and it ended up being too big and tried to bunch up leaving gaps. Didn't end up using and just bought those plastic things to shove down the drain and pull the hair out. Mind you those work really well at getting stuff out it's just kind of gross. This would have been more of a preventative thing had it been a better fit, too bad this product isn't offered with a smaller diameter size. **Make sure to measure before you purchase, if it's the right size buy it I believe it will be a good preventative measure!**

Shellbell: Does it stop hair from going down the drain? Yes. It absolutely does its job. It is also very easy to install, remove, and wipe clean. For actual functionality and what I was imagining when I ordered this, it lives up to my expectations.

My issues with it -
1. When totally clear, it still slows the water from being drained, which means it ALWAYS gives that "my tub just started backing up" sound of the water hitting a small puddle instead of the bare floor. This, quite frankly, is a pet peeve of mine.
2. Even just a little bit of hair will have the drain backed up as if you have a massive clog. This means you're standing in a puddle of water, and once the tub finally drains, you have all your shampoo, conditioner, and body wash remnants draining slowly away, leaving a layer of soap scum over the entire tub...meaning it no longer looks clean and will need to be cleaned much more often. Yes, you can pull out the drain ring and wipe it off at any time, but reaching into backed up water makes me feel like I'm dirty, and the last thing I want at the end of every single shower is to feel dirty.

Aoi: I really really really wanted this to work out. It's so pretty and cute. Very superficially it will work to an extent. It does catch some hair and I did pull out a decent amount of hair that was caught off the tubring. However a lot WILL GO DOWN YOUR DRAIN and therein lies the problem. If you are a renter it doesn't matter, it's not your house. But if you own a house you really don't want to risk hair going down YOUR drain and pipes and causing potential problems down the line. Most people might not notice the hair going down the drain until it's too late. For us we noticed because our hair is super (down to our butt) long so I see it sticking out of the drain after I remove the tubring. Obviously I removed the tubring after it's dried out/no water is running otherwise it would just push everything down the drain if water is in motion.

Sadly when I start pulling the hair that is sticking out from the drain a LOT MORE kept coming out so there is a problem of this thing does not catch a majority of the hair. Most people WILL NOT NOTICE it because hair is too short and once it flushes down the drain you won't realize until it's too late and one day years...

G.L.H van de Ven: Geweldig product voor je bad of douche. De haren komen niet meer in je afvoer en kunnen makkelijk verwijderd worden. Wij hebben een pop-up afvoer in bad, daar past deze tubring mooi onder. Voor de douche zit deze standaard in de afvoer. Voor het bad moet deze tubring even aan de kant. Super blij mee!

Sarah: I've only used it once so far, but this thing caught a shocking amount of hair without really slowing down the water's ability to drain. I followed the advice of others in these reviews and didn't remove it until after the shower had dried and it was super easy to clean. I would really recommend paying attention to the measurements and measuring your own drain before buying, my pop up drain is pretty much exactly the max recommended size and it fit perfectly, the hair catcher wedged underneath the drain cover and sealed really well. If your drain is a lot smaller I don't think it would be nearly as effective.
