Brigitte Fisher: Good Pancreatitis cookbooks are hard to fine. I ordered this one and was so surprised. The recipes are easy to follow and use ingredients I have on hand. I was pleasantly surprised to see lots of Instant Pot recipes included.
This cookbook would be wonderful for anyone wanting to be healthy.

M. BM. B: Very disappointed with this book.
Its written for an American audience, so has cups and farenheight temperatures, this normally wouldn't be an issue as easy enough to convert.
However, I do not understand any of the methods, the author refers to an IP or IP trivet, to be set on high, saute etc (see photos for examples). I have no idea what an IP is? I think its some sort of pressure cooker. Anyway I don't have one, so i'm unable to cook at least a third of the recipes.
The recipes are nicely set out with nutritional content per serving, but then many of the recipes state to "lightly grease" the tray/pot. This grease is not included in the recipe. Is it included in the nutrition? Part of pancreatitis is to limit fats, so adding them when there are fat free alternatives out there seems very odd.
Anyway, as I said before, VERY disappointed. It'll probably sit untouched on the bookcase for a few months before heading to the charity shop.

JJJJ: If you have pancreatitis, you can’t eat meat. You will just end up straight back in the ER. This book, with a promisingly vegan-looking cover, is just loaded with pork and lamb recipes and such pancreas-friendly breakfast treats as chicken and bacon muffins. Pork Swedish meatballs. Really? What a sick joke.

Safa: This book teaches very well to readers about the causes of pancreatitis and other possible causes as well. What foods to avoid, and healthy alternatives for managing the condition. It points out that things like wheat and alcohol can contribute to problems and lists the various symptoms that present for most people who have been diagnosed with this condition. But the best part of the book: the many easy-to-prepare and delicious recipes it contains that are sure to please anyone who tries them, even if they have no health issues to consider.

Waffle Lynn: If you or someone close to you have been diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis it can be a bit overwhelming trying to make adjustments to your lifestyles. Thankfully, with the help of the Pancreatitis Cookbook, you can not only get tons of great recipes, but some interesting insight on pancreatitis.
The cookbooks opens with a chapter titled “What Are Symptoms of Your Pancreas Not Working Properly” which was an eye opening read for me. Then it follows up with other possible pancreas related diseasse your symptoms could be related to, if not pancreatitis.
I really enjoyed the sample 21 day pancreatitis diet spreadsheet. Anyone knows it takes three weeks to make new habits and I thought this was a really helpful tool to changing a diet for pancreatitis.

Karen Robinson: I've been struggling with pancreatitis for years now and this is by far the best book I have come across. I was able to heal my pancreatitis and feel spectacular and the recipes are amazing. The instructions are easy to follow and a lot of recipes you can make quickly which is great since I don't have the time to cook all day. I love to cook but spending a bunch of time in a grocery store getting hard to find ingredients and then cooking for hours on end is not my priority.
I was expecting the book to only have the recipes but there is a big part in the beginning which dives deep into pancreatitis and explains a lot of concepts I haven't heard before. I actually realized I was actually doing quite a few things wrong and that some mainstream ideas that are accepter might actually be hurting certain individuals. After making changes I started to see benefits immediately and I started losing weight as well which is a benefit I didn't expect but needed haha. Especially since it's pretty much summertime so it was great seeing extra fat being burned. I also noticed that I have more energy. I'm not the most energetic person and I do experience fatigue quite often and I still do but...

Paul Lappen: Pancreatitis Cookbook: The Ultimate Pancreatitis Guide with More than 120 Easy and Delicious Pancreatitis Diet Recipes to Improve Your Enzymes and Health, Sophia Wilson, self-published, 2021
You have just been diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis. Now what do you do? This book attempts to answer that question.
Acute pancreatitis is a short-term inflammation of the pancreas. Chronic pancreatitis can lead to lead to gradual fibrosis of the gland, which can lead to it losing the vast majority of its function. This becomes a big problem because your body is unable to produce enzymes to absorb some products of the digestion process, including nutrients that come from fats, and sugars.
This book explores the lifestyle and diet changes that are required of someone with chronic pancreatitis. It includes over 100 recipes to improve your health and the condition of your enzymes. Included is a 21-day meal plan to help reduce the frequency, and severity, of attacks.
For anyone who is frustrated by the results of their online search for information on pancreatitis, reading this book is a very good idea. Try just on recipe, and if you don't have an attack, try another...

esther thomas: The introductory information given about pancreatitis is helpful but the recipes aren't so great. There is a presumption that we all have instant pots, slow cookers, and Dutch ovens, and there is no alternative instruction for cooking on the hob. It seems, judging by this book, that you have to eat mostly meat to defeat pancreatitis, not so great for me as I can't eat meat as it makes me feel sick. There are a number of egg recipes and some fish recipes but there is very little overall for the non meat eater. It seems that pork is the number one thing to eat as there is a whole chapter devoted to it, and even when I did eat meat I never liked pork. Some of the recipe instructions aren't that clear either.
