Virginia Urani: This book is both beautiful and informative. It begins with prehistoric people and continues to today. It is very interesting to see how and why clothing styles evolved through the years. I gave it to my grandaughter for her birthday but may order one for myself!

BacciThisBacciThis: I was so excited to receive this book to add to my collection. I ordered a brand new hardcover copy. The book that was sent was used by the prior owner. Several pages were folded, the cover was damaged, there were dirt marks on the cover, and the book smelled like cigarettes! A replacement copy will be sent.
Overall, the book is a STUNNING collection of fashion history and imagery. It’s comprehensive and takes the reader on a pictorial journey from BCE times to modern-day fashion culture. Love, love, love it. Was just annoyed that a clearly used copy was sent.

Laura: This is an excellent book that provides a comprehensive history of fashion over the centuries, placing in its social and cultural context. Thousands of wonderful images with detailed descriptions and a very useful glossary at the end of the volume. A great resource for anyone interested in fashion and a wonderful coffee table book for everyone to browse (the fluoro lime green cover is a bit strong on the eye but I understand it is consistent with the editorial choice made by DK for their visual guides’ series). The book is also great value for money and was delivered in pristine conditions earlier than expected so happy on all fronts!
