Second, I don’t have enough words to describe the beauty of this book. But I’ll try! I’ll start with the cover. First, it’s not as bright pink as shown in the Amazon photo. But I’m glad it’s not. The more subtle pink is more pleasing to the eye. But the cover alone takes my breath away. If feels like a pointe shoe! The same material. Whoever designed this book, left no detail untouched.
Moving onto the photography… it’s absolutely stunning. Just when you think you’ve seen the most stunning image, you turn to page to find one more. I immediately followed this photographer on social media.
For the ballerina in your life, or the older woman in your life who used to be a ballerina… there would be no greater gift! 10/10 purchase!

Joseph Dlhopolsky: I bought this book as a birthday present for an aspiring 8-year old ballerina's birthday present. She had a perfunctory reaction to most of the gifts, which is to be expected given the celebratory setting. However, she paged through this one for a longer time and only gave it up when her mother urged her to open the next present. It was clear to me that she was taken in by it.

Hans-Jürgen Kreim: Ich habe vom Ballerina Project über Instagram erfahren und mir kurze Zeit später den offiziellen Bildband bestellt. Meine Erwartungen wurden vollends erfüllt, auf über 200 Seiten sind wunderschön ästhetische Fotografien von verschiedenen (teilweise international bekannten) Ballettänzerinnen zu bestaunen. Aufgrund von unterschiedlichen Positionen/Ballettfiguren, Outfits und Städten gleicht kein Bild dem anderen. Man merkt, dass es sich um das Projekt eines echten Künstlers handelt, der viel Kreativität und Arbeit in die Fotografien investiert hat. Der Einband ist mit einem rosanen Stoff überzogen, der an den Stoff der Spitzenschuhe von echten Tänzerinnen erinnert. Zusammen mit der Goldschrift wirkt es absolut edel. Der Bildband ist so schön, dass ich es auf einer Bilderleiste ausgestellt habe! Klare Kaufempfehlung, zumal der Preis verhältnismäßig günstig ist.

Patrick: I've been following the Ballerina Project for several years, mostly on Facebook, Tumblr and Instagram. I've always been a fan of Dane's work on this project and was very excited to hear that a book was coming out (but sad to hear the project was ending).
I just got the book today and in short, it is incredible. A stunning set of images, a high quality book and great printing. What grabbed me the most when I opened the box is that the cover is made out of the same satin pointe shoe material that pointe shoes have. Love the attention to detail and the thought to do that.
In short, it is a great book at WELL worth the $28 it currently is on Amazon (after seeing it, I'd pay much more than that). Highly recommended.
