Flower dancer: Reading the thoughts and actions of the two families, such obvious mistakes are made. Then looking back at your own life- one wonders why we don’t learn from others mistakes and control our emotions.

Monica Lilley.: Being interested in both wild and cultivated flowers I could visualise the arrangements. More good reading for my bedtime . Thankyou . Monica Lilley

C. Schultz: I really enjoy many of the author's books. This saga ended ambitious leaving the reader able to create their own conclusions. While I would have liked to follow the characters for a few more years, I like the author to create a finale with their characters.

turtle: I read both of the books in this saga. I felt this one was a little drawn out and the ending was rubbish! Don't think I will read any more by this author.

Chrissie: I enjoyed this story it gently flowed along . The florist Fiona introduced you to the flowers and their meaning. Making the shop a great success. The story meandered along with little ripples here and there. Then storm broke and Fiona was lost. Frederick finding Flora and talking together I wonder if they got back together. A love story with a difference.

Pam: This novel is the second in The Seed Traders Saga, written by the brilliant German Author, Petra Durst-Benning. The novel is set in Baden-Baden, Germany, in the 19th century, and once again the chief protagonist is a woman making her way in the world. Flora and her family have a flower shop, and the story wanders around the goings-on in the rich aeriefied world of Baden-Baden. The story is a little slow, but the writing is as usual, brilliant; the editing is very near faultless. I much preferred The Glassblower Series, though this current series is a lighter, more romantic romp through German times. A great read, and one which I can thoroughly recommend. Would actually give it 4.5 stars though that is not an option.

C. Brewer: I’m always anxious for a Durst-Benning book. I have read the previous Glassblower and Century trilogies, plus The Seed Trader. I’m fascinated with how the women of those eras lived and survived the trials and tribulations of relationships, losses and making their way through business in a restrictive man’s world. Would have given the book 5 stars however they are starting to carry much the same theme and are beginning to be predictable. Even so, I’m hoping there will be a third book in the Seed Trader series.

jcasciato: I had too much time between the first and second book in the series, so I lost some of the background, but this could be a standalone book too. Lots of activity, personality conflicts, romance, and betrayal. Nice ending leans to the positive side but still up in the air.
