F L Dikko:
The dialogues in this series can only be described as hilarious. I have had many moments where people look at me funny because I started laughing out loud while reading a book.
The action is great and the game mechanics are very fun. I consistently find myself wishing I was playing too.

Amazon Customer: This message is specifically for Frank; you are in need of a body so you can kill things on your own. Ned is useless, so start making some moves.

My review for Shadeslinger may get a little more into the details of why I ended up liking it, and how I thought I wouldn't in the first part of the book, so I won't delve into it too deeply. This second offering is really building up to what's going to be the story's epic boss battle.
I can't completely avoid spoilery for the first book, so if you've not read that....well....go do so unless you don't mind spoilers. On we go...
Ned's interactions with Darling and the Omen Guild are really quite important to this story. The way he's begun to trust them shows how much stronger they are together. The showdown with Tyrann built more and more in book 1, and is really exploding here. I can't really share more, but a LOT more happens in this book than I thought it would. By the end of book 1, Ned's goals seemed pretty clear to me, and the story arc was taking shape. But as this book went on, I began to realize that I was thinking too small. Maybe the only one who really grasped Ned's plans for this world was Ned! (Or maybe I'm giving Ned too much credit, and the true mastermind is Frank. Of course it's Frank. It's always Frank! Oh man, and speaking...

Great book 2 of the series. In the Lirpg genre in my personal top 2. Not sure - maybe even no 1.
It is just great how the writing makes you smile or even laughing out loud because of the amazing discussion / talking between frank and nat!
A speaking axe that loves blood, murderer, torture aaaand cats…. Just great!
Im case LitRPG is your Genre you should defiantly read this series!

So here we are another book finished and another horrible wait till the next one. Except for the small mistake at the release of the book this series has ticked all my boxes. It’s action packed, exciting, funny and some great evolving characters.
My one and only complaint will be the wait till book 3.

One Who Knows: If you've liked B.V.Larson Undying Mercenary Series or Ryk Brown novels you will love these stories. Why? The author knows how to write believable, living character's that you truly become invested in watching their lives unfold. The side kick, Frank the Axe, brings a huge amount of levity to the books in a way that few authors can achieve. The fact that this is a book about a computer game is incredibly interesting and you feel like you are actually there in the world, which is conversely a game! Waiting with baited breath for the next installment. Will love to see if Darling and the main character Ned, ever get together.
