JLC: I've had one of these window shelves installed for a couple of years, and I've never had a problem with it. I chose a different style for another window that attached to the glass with suction cups on nylon ribbons above the platform instead of metal support bars below. It was fine for a while, but it eventually started falling down because the suction cups on the support ribbons above the platform failed. I'm very glad my cat wasn't on it any of the times it fell. I bought another one of these to replace it. The new shelf hasn't budged. I feel much more confident in its stability with the metal support bars underneath. It's a simple, well-designed, inexpensive product that is safe for my cat and allows her to see more of the world outside my apartment. I'm happy with that.

SarahSarah: I've never had a cat window shelf before, but they made me nervous because I didn't want something that could possibly fall once my cat jumped on it. I will say I'm very pleasantly surprised with this and it has worked out great. My cat loves it and it is very sturdy. It has not budged at all with her jumping on it or moving around on it or anything. I'm thinking about actually getting another one lower to the ground for my other cat. Would highly recommend if you're looking for this sort of thing

Lady Miss CLady Miss C: Very easy to install and surprisingly both my kitties love it!
They seem to like it much better with a pad or folded towel on top. It makes it more comfortable.
**Update: I just got a second one in the large size and it's wonderful as well. My kitties love and took to it right away. It's plenty big as they still have extra room even when they stretch out on it. The only downside, and it's a very slight one, is that the large one's fabric part stretches out a bit after some use. But it's still plenty sturdy.
If you're on the fence I'd say go for it!
As far as these beds go they're a good deal, easy to set up and both my kitties use them every day: after having them for months now setting them up/taking them down is a total breeze.

Jill M. EssenburgJill M. Essenburg: I liked that it had pretty clear directions. The metal support arms do lock in place; just pay attention to the instructions. I soaked the suction cups in warm water first and they held well. My kitten loves it; I’m not sure how well it will hold my 11 lb. cat though. The only downside is that the ends with the Velcro tabs should be a little longer to secure completely. Mine didn’t.
