Aaron Testerman: This book had good development of characters and pacing of the story.

Main character is average office worker turned major power in a game system story line, but it uses European names witch is nice change for this genre.

Overall I enjoyed this book enough to binge read it as quickly as possible and stoped here to post this before starting book 2.

Sheathd427: I almost dropped Primal Hunter several times in the opening chapters. At no point does anyone really have a reasonable reaction to being thrown into a game system, and in fact character reactions are pretty inconsistent across the board early on. Two characters with almost identical names are another burden, as is Jake’s almost maniacal swing from one emotional state to another. But once things settle in, it quickly becomes a captivating progression focused litRPG with just enough worldbuilding to hold my attention.

Morkie: MAN WHAT A GOOD BOOK! I really love the writing style as it paints such a vibrant and vivid world to the reader. I truly wouldn’t change a thing I think everything worked really well. It has an air of humor and seriousness, which made it all the more fun to read. It’s a LITRPG as it stated and it truly does it well following the idea of a rpg. Highly highly recommend this to anyone who loves fantasy or wants to read an amazing adventure book! Can’t wait to read the second :o

ehdaie hadi: It’s not a fantasy book like sanderson’s series or any other fatasy book i’ve read. Great concept, reading the first book was definitely more fun than playing a game. On to book 2 with a lot of expectations.

Esther: Previously, all I ever read were Pride & Prejudice vagaries and a few sci-fi books here and there so I was a bit surprised to find this as a recommendation for me. I had never heard of LitRPG (being old) so I googled it and was intrigued. Since I didn’t have to pay for it (KU), I thought why not.

I was hooked. I read it in one sitting and then read it again. I then went on to read the remaining books available. While waiting for book 5 to drop, I read the entire series again (and again).

I am not ignorant of the book’s shortcomings. Zogarth can get tedious with his stats and overlong fights. In one book he devoted 10 chapters to fighting poo-slinging monkeys 😵‍💫. However, the first time reading through each book, I read every last word. On my re-reads I skimmed past stats and characters I had no desire to read about again (I am mostly talking about William here) as well as overlong fight scenes and some cringy dialogue. I far more enjoyed the interactions between Jake and Villy and other key characters, especially Slyphie. Oh yeah, I do enjoy seeing him kick bad guys butts.

As to Jake, you actually see him grow and acknowledge his shortcomings...

Client Kindle: Un livre bien écrit avec une bonne grammaire et une formulation de phrases qui donne envie de lire la suivante.

Dans un genre LitRpg, c'est un des meilleurs du style

S.L.Perkins: Fans of Defiance of the Fall will probably like this series as it has many similar hallmarks without being remotely a carbon-copy. Example differences are: the main character in this book is an archer, not an axe-man; everyone starts in the tutorial, not just the 'cultivators'; less focus on Eastern notions such as meditating on a Dao; the universe in which Earth exists is more protected from the wider universes within the System and thus threats are mostly home-grown rather than imported (apart from interfering gods); etc. Note, I've read all three books currently out, so my review is affected by that.

Good points:
- likeable character with lots of things going for him, but also a number of flaws such as social difficulty and anger issues which help keep him from being a Mary Sue/Gary Stu.
- well-written and well-paced - I've lost a bit of sleep over the last few days because of this story!
- interesting world and good world-building
- some other good side-characters, some of which have only really started to be introduced.
- love the relationship between the MC and Villy!

Criticisms:
- a bit too much exposition sometimes, especially over choosing...

Jas P: Primal Hunter is a Fantasy LitRPG that follows the paths of a group of office workers that are taken from their work place suddenly and transported to the Multiverse, in which they have to survive a period of time within a designated tutorial scenario. Within this scenario, are 1200 participants, each in the groups that have been taken (groups of 10).
Within our main group is one of the major characters of the story, Jake Thayne. The story mainly focuses on Jake’s story, with only minor segues to the other characters in Jake’s group, and later in the story, we do get to meet some other characters (but I am not going to give spoilers).
Jake is a fascinating character from the start – we get introduced to him in his office environment, and learn that he is a bit of a loner, has difficulty with social situations, but is intelligent, and motivated when he wants to be. When he is transported to the tutorial, he quickly picks up on what is going on, and when presented with the different classes from Fantasy style systems (Warrior, Archer, Rogue, Cleric, Wizard etc), in which he has to choose from, he picks Archer, as he has previous archery skills.
Being that this is a...

Guilherme Nominato de Andrade: I've been following this novel since the begining on RR. One of the best I've ever read and one of the few I read as soon as the author post a new chapter
