green dragonfly: I find it hard to find a decent cookbook for food sensitivity. This book has some decent and tasty edible recipes.

Happy Sheep: I don't understand why quite a few recipes in this book contain cheese when milk products contain lectins. Even though many Functional Medicine doctors say that A2 casein is tolerated much better than A1 casein, I'm more intolerant of sheep and goat's A2 protein than I am of cow's protein. As such quite a few recipes in this book are out of bounds for me. Also Dr Gundry says that chili powder and cayenne pepper are lectin free because they've had the skin and seeds removed. I only wish he'd provide the name of the brands which guarantee this kind of product because I contacted one company and was told their chili powder included the skin and seeds. If you're trying to combine a low lectin diet with a low oxalate diet and/or an AIP diet, this is NOT the book for you. Every recipe contains something forbidden on the AIP list such as nuts, cocoa, dairy and seeds such as cumin; or the oxalate list such as sweet potatoes, spinach and almonds etc. I understand that once someone has recovered from the effects of too many dietary lectins, they can reintroduce beans which have been pressure-cooked, but in Phase 1 and 2, I was under the impression that beans should be avoided? Maybe I'm...

Crystal108: I'm very happy that I found Dr. Gundry.. I like how he summarizes everything for a quick start. I also need to understand how and why so I'm listening to the full Plant Paradox too. I never "swallow" everything an author says in a health book. I take from it the parts I agree with.. I agree with Dr. Gundry that grains and beans can do great harm. It's fascinating to llearn that a lot of other vegetables are high in lectins and harmful too. I had heard about nghtshades causing inflammation before, but no one explained it this well. I fully agree with what Dr. Gundry says about grains and beans.

I love the page where he lists the foods for phase 1, 2, and 3.

I don't currently fully agree with what he says about fruit and fruit juice. I lost 30 pounds on an orange juice fast (Health Via Food by Dr. William Howard Hay explains it and also explains food combining.). Tree fruit and berries are easily digested in about half an hour and no problems with constipation. I’m glad to know that most of the lectins are in the skin and seeds. I always thought that green bananas would make us sick. I wish the experts would come to a concensus

I really think that for optimal...

Haical Sajovic Haddad: Well, I am sincerely happy with the book. That’s why I wanted to share this review with you. The book is divided in two parts: the first covers the Plant Paradox Program in detail, whereas the second brings easy-to-prepare recipes divided in categories.

The first part of the book is where we learn the details about the program: the background and effects of lectins in our bodies, the common disrupters we may not be aware of, as well as a detailed explanation on how we should approach the program to bring back our innate happy and healthy life.

Please, the first part of this book can either be a refresher of the main book if you have already read that, or it can be the only book to read if you haven’t read that yet. That is, don't bother and get this one instead. You will find ordered and well-explained information covering pretty much all aspects of the program proposed, including the list of desirable food choices as well as the list of those we want to avoid in order to keep low inflammation. I say that because I ended up reading the main book twice and is still fresh in order to compare them both.

The second part of the book is quite delightful. Now, as...
