Angelica: I do not understand why this book is banned when it can teaches so many young and adult people to keep going. It will be better. Love the letters strategy to share the story. It felt very personal

Amazon Customer: this book was so excellent! I remember feeling just like Charlie did when I was his age. I wish this book had existed back then because if it had, it would have given me a lot of hope. I would not have felt so alone like I did. I would have known that someone else knew what it felt like to be in my shoes. Adolescence is very awkward and those of us who were wallflowers think we are weird when I'm fact others feel the same way. I know that some of the letters have controversial parts, but those who object are missing the point of this book. the point is that these are very real things teenagers face and don't know how to deal with. They need guidance and hope. This book provides that and teenagers need to read it.

Alyssa: In the Perks of Being a Wallflower there is plot devices these plot devices in the book have two settings. The settings of these plot devices are Driving and The Rocky Horror Picture show. In the book the driving portion shows characters being independent and showing maturity. The main character Charlie he is 15 and deals with depression and trauma he lost his best friend Michael that triggers Charlie, and it puts him through more depression. Charlie showed this by being able to drive with and without people so did the others and this gave him an outlook to adulthood. Also, Charlie does get his first connection through the driving portion and that was with Patrick and Sam which are now his best friends. The Rocky Horror Picture show gives the teens in the book a chance to be themselves and to let loose without feeling judge. I say this because in the book this gave Sam a chance to feel like someone else and to bring out his sexuality and independence the role, he played showed sexuality as being outgoing. Also, Patrick opened up from this to he was in a different character’s position which made him feel like himself because in reality it’s hard for him to be open up because...

David C. Young: Of course I loved the book. It's so much more than "young-adult combing-of-age". For me, it was deeply moving, an often gripping story, particularly at the end, and it opened a window not just into teenagers, but into life at all stages -- this while being extremely well-written and without calling attention to its well-written-ness. What I found most striking, was showing life through a different kind of mind, what's sometimes called Asperger's Syndrome or High-Functioning Autism. AS/HFA isn't a disease, but an important difference, important to us all. What makes AS/HFA an important difference is its talents, particularly its special "perceptiveness", though not "perceptiveness" in the usual sense. More as a deep meaning to what Robert Burns wrote, "And would some power, the Gods give us, To see ourselves as others see us!"

(Know this book deals directly with many painful topics including abuse, suicide and violent bullying. It's not for "more sensitive" readers.)

Reading several reviews, I'm not surprised that some reviewers found the lead character, Charlie, "too sweet" and "improbable". In this, understandably, they miss Charlie's "diffferent" mind and more, his...
