Sherry.: Adam said he really could not put it down. I had not read it but on Best seller N. y Times.

Karen F. Russell: This is a surprisingly well written book. The phrasing, grammar, and sentence construction are superb. The plot is reminiscent of the first Indiana Jones film and hence my four-star rating; however, the book is well worth a read just for the sheer joy of experiencing the English language in rare form.

John McAlexander III: I wasn't quite sure when I bought this book ... but I am surely glad that I did ! ! Extremely interesting story concluding with a breathtaking ending . Very recommended reading. I will definitely be reading more of Michael C. Grumley's books !

Debra: Mr. Grumley never ever fails to keep me in awe. His mastery of writing books that keep you glued to the pages is beyond most every author that I have read and that numbers in the thousands. This journey for Angela and Joe will always stay with me. Their hunt takes them across our world in the pursuit of a decades old family mystery that grows in leaps and bounds . Beyond amazing!

Victor F: So excited I could finally give this book the time it deserves. Had it waiting in the wings for a while. At a time when many mass book series out there are pumped out lacking in developed writing and editing, it’s great to sit down with a really good read. Great story, well written and well edited with intriguing characters. Michael never disappoints.

stevedhomer: An imaginative story with interesting characters. Perhaps a little too many scenarios that left the reader hanging until they were resolved. But the story drew me in and the ending was unexpected and satisfying.

Diana D: I enjoyed this for the most part, and it was a fast read. The story was an interesting blend of historical elements and plausible speculative ideas, and the protagonists were likeable even if not as fully developed as they could have been. Other characters were a little too sparsely developed, although there was some good detail included on the main villain/antagonist. Overall I did like the plot because it wasn't wildly out of the realm of possibility.

My 3 star rating is due to the presence of three pet peeves: while the writing was generally effective, there was an irritating (to me) overuse of fragments, especially when describing settings or moving the action forward. This may be a "thing" in thriller stories of this kind to provide a seemingly suspenseful fast pace, but I find it annoying when it's overdone. I keep on wanting to edit to make complete sentences. It's perfectly fine in dialogue - it's the way most people talk - but strings of fragmentary phrases in exposition narrative becomes irritating to read.

I'm not a fan of obvious, heavy-handed cliff hangers in books, and, while I understand the reasoning behind it - to get readers to...

Steven Sheeley: Brilliantly written and a wonderful read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish. The characters were memorable and well written and the plot was well thought out.

Rob: I liked this story. It ended not the way it began but in the way it should. Characters were real and realized. The plot was consistent and tautly written. I closed it quite satisfied.

Marcos Luz: When I started the book, it had got me full attention. A letter found accidentally 60 years after sent, and all the mystery of it: who wrote, why and when exactly. 10 out 10. But after this first part, things began to be more of the same: another search for a lost Indiana Jones kind of City and from that point on the book was good but not the exceptional quality used to be on others written by this same author. The end - probably for personal reasons - was a spiritual one: a second chance to meet someone you love for a brief moment of time. I confess that I was expecting a lot more...If you have spare time, worth the shot.
