knuckledragger: I've known the author since before he became a nurse. He was a good storyteller then. I've also spent a decent amount of time in low/no income government housing; these stories ring true and they're hilarious. Spoken by a man who genuinely cares about his patients, no matter what kind of situation he finds them in. Money well spent, and I had a hilarious evening reading these stories that could very well have occurred in the slums of your town too.

Munchkin: I liked this! Funny, stories. Crazy places! My daughter is an overnight Hospice nurse. She has similar stories and I worry about her. She is 5’ 2” long blonde hair.. She goes all over the Chicago area! Keep writing! Be safe!

Aaron M.: John certainly sheds some light on an often unseen world of nursing. You will be truly entertained and inspired while reading this book. He has a very human way of telling his stories and keeping it light enough to be a fun read. He may claim the he's "a clinician, not a magician", but it's obvious from these stories that he's both.
Nursing is not all candy striping and ice chips, there's an entirely contrasted world of bravery and uncertainty that requires improvisation, courage, sense of humor. street smarts, and even a little bit of luck.
Thank you for taking me on your journey with this book, John.

Derek Lewis: I really enjoyed the anecdotes and quotes. You can devour this book in a few hours like I did or savour it bit by bit. It really paints an eye opening picture of what life is like in this area of Flint. I highly recommend this book.

DontDoIt: Definitely worth the read! This book was disturbingly hysterical! He paints a picture so perfectly that not only do you see what he sees, you know what it smells like, too! Some crazy uncomfortable and hysterical situations. All through the eyes of a guy who somehow sees the light in every situation. Do yourself a favor and grab a copy! Share it with friends, too. Everyone should have a copy of this book!
I can't wait for the next one!

Amazon Customer: John is an brilliant writer and nurse! I love his choice of words to describe in detail his experiences so that I can feel as if I’m with him and his patients. He brings comedy and light to a profession that gets little to no reward or gratitude and shows compassion for patients in desperate situations in their health and/or home. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to have a good laugh or even shed a tear.
