knd: This is truly an amazing and engaging journey into the mind of an accomplished, atriculate, intelligent woman who is courageously facing the challenges of early onset dementia. It is one of the very best memoirs I have ever read on this or any other medical topic. Anyone can benefit from its insights, but it is a must read for those with the diagnosis, their friends and caregivers, and health care providers who serve these patients. I give the volume my highest recommendation.

RDreamer: Beautifully written and moving memoir that helps one understand what it is like to live with dementia. Wendy shares her personal experience as someone who has early onset Alzheimer’s in such a way that one can better understand what it must be like, as well as better understand how to support those we love who have dementia. For those diagnosed with dementia it provides insight into navigating life with dementia.
Her story took me back to some of the things I experienced with my own mother who had Alzheimer’s and helped me better understand how she may have felt at various times, as well as reflect on the signs we missed before it became clear something was wrong. Oh how I wish I had read this book then.
In sharing her story, Wendy not only provides great insight, she also provides a powerful reminder to keep the lines of communication open and to focus on what a person “can do” versus those things they can’t.

Michael Trussler: This is a rare book. To follow Wendy Mitchell's initial diagnosis of early onset Alzheimer's and then follow her numerous experiences as she tries to accept and thrive as best as she can is humbling. Most important, she conveys insights into the condition that the most well-intended person would never glimpse.

Amazon Customer: I don't know how or why I came to have this book on my Kindle. Perhaps divine intervention. My mother is going through something and I believe this is it. I have watched her mental capabilities change over the last several years. She used to ask if she had "the A or D" and I didn't have an answer. She doesn't ask that any more. She is in a different place now that doesn't publicly address what is going on. I am not an only child it I have been aware of the situation the longest. Reading this book gave me some insight into how to treat her to help make her life easier. My instincts, based on the information I got from this story and with people who have walked this walk, has been pretty much correct on how she would like to be treated. From the perspective of a child caught up in this journey I would love to hear what other children are doing knights situation. Thank you Wendy Mitchell for what you have done to live me more clarity on this subject. Perhaps I will be able to help my parent through this part of the journey a little easier.
