Karolin: Slow at the beginning, I felt and was about to give up on this book. But, by chapter 3, I was mesmerized, and up till the very last page I was on the edge of my seat!
Very interesting knowledge gained about Russia 🇷🇺 and the CIA/FBI. The legal system, court, Jury and I found the Judge, defence and Council for the government convincing. I have really enjoyed this book.
I look forward to the next read by this Author.

Tiffany Murphy : "The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off. Origin debated."

In The Eight Sister, Robert Dugoni introduces Charles Jenkins, a former CIA case officer. Jenkins has a lot depending on him and his struggling security consulting firm. He's in his early sixties, he has a family to take care of, and his wife has a new baby on the way. Just when he's feeling overwhelmed by it all and sure that his company is going to fail, his former bureau chief shows up at his home and tells him that the CIA needs to reactivate him for a mission that needs his area of expertise. They need to travel undercover to Moscow and locate a Russian operative that is believed to be killing members of a US spy cell known only as the seven sisters. He does find the Russian agent but it quickly becomes clear that the situation isn't what he was told . What follows is a deadly game of cat and mouse as he is pursued by a Russian intelligence officer. He finally makes it home, only to be abandoned by the agency he works for and branded a traitor.

This book was full of suspense and twists and turns as Jenkins tried to fulfill his mission, and then as he tries to make...

jackey: A thriller worthy of its name. Complicated but not so difficult to follow. Well written and fast paced. Also the second part, with the trial, is perfectly built. I recommend it as one of the best by Dugoni

Jacques de Guise: I thoroughly enjoyed this novel following Jenkins in Moscow as I was there years ago and its correlation with Tavarisch Putin.

Sharad Sakorkar: My first book written by the author. As a fan of cold war spy fiction and true stories, when I read the excerpts, I thought this up my ally and it turned out to be a very exciting and suspenseful book. Surprise was the second part of the book - a thrilling legal battle for Jenkins to save his honour and not go down as a traitor. The central character is a 6.5 feet black erstwhile CIA operative. Happily married, with a school going son and his wife pregnant. As a result of financial difficulties he gets drawn back into an operational role in the CIA to save his home and his company. A deceptively simple job, to travel to Russia, do what is expected and come back. Another agent would take over from there on. What unfolds is a hair rising cat and mouse game to save himself and come back alive. It's a big frame up which he learns only when he manages to flee from Russia and somehow reaches home in the US.

It's a well written spy thriller-cum-court room drama. A faith destroying story. Faith in the system, regardless of the country one belongs. To keep the system alive and running, collateral damage is the name of the game. Dirty operatives with positional...

Elle Zee: Robert Dugoni masterfully divides, then intertwines, two captivating and exciting components of his spy novel, The Eighth Sister. The first part of the book sees Charles Jenkins, ex-CIA operative, coerced back into service, despite having walked away unhappy from the agency decades previously. He now has a wife, family and business to keep afloat. Then out of the blue his old CIA handler knocks on his door and begs him to go to Russia on an off-the-book mission.
The second part of the book deals with the aftermath of what occurs in Russia, equally as exciting, but in a legal, white-knuckle manner! To be more detailed would spoil things for the reader... Suffice to say that Mr. Dugoni's writing remains stellar throughout, taking the reader on a journey of adventure, treachery and espionage. An excellent read that I highly recommend. A+
